I've actually sold the car, there's no way I can crawl around and keep working on it with the pins and rods in my back, plus there is another operation coming up, so I sold it, and my kart. I did buy an already built car to replace it, but right now, I'm buried working with race teams until further notice. IMSA is trying to cram 10 races into 4 months along with the SCCA runoffs and the majors this winter so I'm double booked in a few cases.
I'm not sure when I'll be able to do anything, I've shoved the other back op as far back as I can stand, what a screwed up year.

Can’t fo wrong with a Phoenix built Mustang! Nice car.

Didn’t know it was back surgery, but within you all the best in your recovery and managing your 2020 Race Season.

All the best,

Understand the back situation so get out there and have as much fun as you can for as long as you can. Mine is shot, but somehow through TMO I have met some super friends and they occasionally help me mount tires, loan me parts, and more.

You guys know who you are and thanks again and again, helps the ole fart get around the track for a few more years.

Except for one hell of a fun race car to drive!

I mean, that would be my guess.

Well, the days of GT type, high output cars that require a bunch of maintenance is over, I work on those all the time, I'd rather have one that's easy to maintain and have fun with.
This is where kart racing has helped, I used to have an unlimited pro shifter license, so I've been 130mph at Daytona on my back, After those rides cars are still cool, but it's not like I have to prove anything to myself. So having fun is the new goal.

Basically a competitive T4 car, which means an unrestricted 6 cylinder, and a Ford Performance suspension, Ron Davis radiator and a cage/ fire system. Nothing really special.
How do the V6's hold up to track use in stock form? The S197 V6 cars are cheaper than SN95's at this point. I've been looking for a stock, reliable track car because the other car is always broken.

Fine if you leave them alone, this one has had the heads off at some point apparently for a valve job. These are not my favorite V6s, they have a modular head and use a counter shaft that runs through the block to drive the cam on the passenger head..lol. BUT, they are very dependable, this one was rung out by Marsh, Rezzatano, Heinricey and a couple of other heavy hitters. The whole idea of SCCA touring class cars is to be able to use a bone stock engine. I know of one national championship won on a salvage yard engine. That's the idea.

Dang, very interesting. Is factory cooling adequate?
