Yep - I have the same thing and couldn’t agree more! Except about the vibration in the shifter, but that’s due to solid motor mounts, the MGW and Blowfish bracket[emoji6]

Finally got the Ford (Actually Dana) alum drive shaft and had it installed. No more clunk from worn out center bearing (moving about 1/4 " in any direction. Smoother, quicker rev up, and no more vibration in the stick. This is what Ford should have used from the start.
Huh, so the FRPP are actually Spicer units? I had no idea.

It's lowered about an inch, roush springs and Bilstein b8hd.
you should have no issues with it, an inch is not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things and Desmo is right, the vibration through the shifter is extreme, but it's not because of the driveshaft, as he stated, it's mostly the Blowfish shifter bracket, which is normal, and a great addition as it not only doubles as the shifter mount, but as a driveshaft loop as well.

I don't have the blowfish bracket, just the mgw.

Hello, I installed the FRPP driveshaft and am very impressed with the increased performance at VIR. However, have high speed, high rpm vibration issue. Most noticeable on back straight between 6500 to 6800 rpm, 5th gear, so high speed. Can feel it thru the floorboard, see the vibration in the rear view mirror. I’ve clocked the DS 180 degrees at the rear flange. No improvement. Spicer says clock it +90, then -90, then clock at front flange. I don’t want to keep doing this and road testing. Need a track to test each time. Is there a better way or solution? Someone here in other thread says Kelly at BMR ( he’s no longer there or I would call him) says to lower the transmission mount by 3/8” ( for lowered mustangs). Has anyone done this? Are 3/8” longer bolts required? Thanks for any insight you may be able to share. Pinion angle is correct.

SPDBOSS,

I still have the 2-piece stock driveshaft (for now) but I took the transmisison cross-member off to install the MGW shifter. The cross-member bolts are fairly long. I don't recall if the bolts go through captive nuts or tapped holes but you can take a look to see how far the bolt threads extend beyond the nuts/threaded holes. It is recommended that bolted connections to have 2 or 3 threads past the top of the nut. But, I don't think you have to be concerned about 3/8", particularly if you use a little blue Loctite to keep things snug. Torque for those bolts is modest, only 35 lb-ft for the (four) cross-member bolts.

HTH,

Chris
