This would have been a nice event to attend. Any of you ever driven a Formula Ford? Back in the early 90's I took a one day Skip Barber Formula Ford driving class at Sonoma raceway. I was racing karts at the time and wanted to see what it was like in a real race car on a big race track. It was a tight fit for me but I had fun.

I'd need a shoehorn to get into one of those cars and then how would I get out of it? A car like that is pure motor and whatever else you need to push you along. That Must be fun, but I'd rather be in my Boss.....Me and Son Went for rides in Go carts when he was young. so I know the feel, but not at a race car level.............Nice Pics

A guy I work with told me how his friend was entered in group 13 and while racing he saw the two cars in front of him split and he crashed into the guy who caused them to move. He was the one that ended up with a broken leg in this story below. This may be a vintage event but it's evident their desire to be competitive is quite apparent.

Definitely brings back some memories for me

I took the Skip Barber Racing School Competition Course in 1991 at Mid-Ohio in a Formula Ford ;)

Since the transmissions didn't have synchromesh, you had to learn how to actually do a proper heel toe double clutch downshift (which most people these days who are simply rev matching think they're doing, but they're not) :p
