It is 2020. On an S197, 2008 Mustang GT racecar, 3600# race weight, what would you consider the "best" width full racing wets?

Class rules say I am allowed 315 on fronts and 335 on rear.
I only have available 18x10.5 wheels.
Not concerned about DOT rating.
TIA.

OK, let me be a little more specific.
Historically, the "experts" say (on my car and weight) never run more than a 275 so it will cut through the water, and not hydroplane.
You're thoughts??? Please chime in.

Always ran the 275/18 H2O Hoosier in the wet on the Mustangs. That tire seems to work really well from GT2 trim to T3 Trim.
The 305/18 H20 is too wide for a 10.5, or even 11" wheel.

In the one race we had to run in the rain in PWC, the Pirelli 305-660/680 WH setup was total crap. Those might have been a bit pinched on the 10.5 wheel as wheel.

Not meaning to deviate too much!! But ran the Contis P2000, would the poor results be partially due to running 320/660-18 on 18x11 wheels??

For rain I have my 275/35-19 street tires. PSS before and now Dunlops. Mind you, dont listen to anything I say about rain since last time it was wet I crunched the car.
