GT350 TPMS on track wheels

I did because I drive my car to and from the track. With the valve stems and sensors I've posted it's inexpensive to do. I still need to confirm which sensors work on the GT350.

I just didn't run TPMS on my track tires :)
I didn't either, but on my earlier S197 I had to reprogram the stock wheels when I swapped off the track wheels/tires. I will plan to run them on the GT350 though to save time taking pressures after every session.

Yeah, I'm really stoked about the accuracy of the pressure readings. Finally on a Ford! It feels like GM has had this since the stone-age.

In for more info on the proper TPMS and valve stems. Honestly I never knew valve stems were rated for a certain speed limit. Good to know!

Checking in on an update to see if anyone has identified a part number for the 350 TPMS with metal stems. I got a price from Steve at Tasca, and the part number he referenced is M*1180*B. Unfortunately the stems in this kit are rubber.

The correct part # is:

GT350 TPMS Sensors Ford FR3Z1A189A

Thanks for that! Curious how you came across that part number? I googled around and didn't come up with anything. Then when I googled that part number all the descriptions listed are pretty cryptic and don't mention the 350.

Rock Auto has these for about $20. Known as both TPMS39 and FR3Z1A189A. These are the steel stems with TPMS that come from the factory. I'm running 315/30/19 Sport Cup 2 on all 4 corners on the factory (non-R) wheels. Learning process worked the first time and the dash readout is accurate enough for track use.

Welcome to TMO. Yes Rock Auto is a great source for the stems. Do you have any photos of those tires mounted on the stock wheels? Any rubbing up front?y

FWIW, check the valve stem nut every day, I've had them vibrate loose, even when properly torqued..(35 inch pounds I think..not sure) in any case, I've marked ours with a paint pen so I can visually check them

FYI -

I ordered just a set of the metal valve stems (TPMS rebuild kit) to use my existing TPMS with my new wheels from RockAuto. According to their website Schrader 34000's were what I needed. BUT they do not work with the OEM sensors. So for now I'm using the rubber valve stem that Discount Tire had for the rebuilds but I just ordered the FR3Z1A189A part which includes sensors as well. I really don't need the sensors too but they can be backups I guess.

Thanks for the info VoodooBOSS!

I just received the OEM TPMS sensors with the metal valve stems and I just placed an order for the Dill valve stems to see if they mate to the OEM TPMS sensors. If they do then I will have two complete sets. I'll report back my findings once the stems arrive.

How did this work out? I bought some Apex wheels so now I need to gather up the bits and pieces to make this work.
