Steering Wheel Alcantara

What are you guys using to care for the Boss's Alcantara? The seats are holding up great but the steering wheel is starting to get a bit matted. I may be proactive and order a new wheel for down the road while they're still available.

Anyone got a tip to keeping it good shape?

Steve,

You might want to check out AMMONYC.com. I use their AMMO Shag along with their brush.

I used a clean cotton towel dampened and just wipe it off. You'll be surprised how much dirt will come off.

to make it like new:

1) take a toothbrush, and brush the whole thing while dry to remove any loose dirt/skin cells/etc
2) take a wrung just damp cloth (optionally can use a squeeze of lemon should there be heavier soiling) and pat/gently rub the wheel
3) pat dry with a dry cloth
4) restore the nap with a toothbrush

This will get it like new, takes 5 minutes. That said, the first day or so after the nap can feel a bit stiff but will return to its normal softness after normal handling very quickly.

Here is my procedure. I use Griots interior cleaner. https://www.griotsgarage.com/product/interior+cleaner.do

I get a clean white cloth and soak a portion of it.
Next I wrap the towel around the wheel and do a sawing action to get the grime and rejuvenate the Alcantara.
After I am done with that I take a dry rag and wipe the wheel down.
Lastly, I take a soft plastic bristle brush and wipe the material until I am happy with the final result.

I just did mine today and it looks pretty new and I have about 39xxx miles in it.

Excellent - I use Griots pretty exclusively. Will try this with the interior cleaner.
