With summer just over a month away, it’s time to post-up notice of “Snakes at the Lake” – 2017, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 24th. As in years past, our current plan has us departing Old Town Sacramento and cruising up Highway 50 through the Sierras as we make our way to the lake. We’ll stop briefly for fuel and a rest break at the Chevron station in Meyers and stage at the golf course parking lot across the way where members from Nevada will meet us. Then we’ll head up scenic Highway 89 on the west side of the lake past Emerald Bay, the Rubicon and Sunnyside areas towards Tahoe Vista on the north shore, where we’re making arrangements again for a relaxing day enjoying a BBQ and Car Show.

For a glimpse of a previous SATL, check out Jason’s great pictures here: http://photos.nowplaying.tv/Lifein2013/2013-Snakes-at-the-Lake/i-nsF3dbr

RSVP’s and pre-payment are required for this event so we can anticipate required parking and determine how many meals will be needed. Please use the GoFundMe link below to facilitate this transaction. When your payment is confirmed, this will be noted on the roster below. After accounting for expenses, any funds left over will be donated to the Carroll Shelby Foundation http://www.shelby.com/?topic=csf so any extra donations are welcomed ;-)

Cost for attending the event is:

$40 per driver/vehicle, which includes NTPUD facility rental and parking fee, BBQ lunch and cold refreshments.

$10 for each additional guest to cover BBQ lunch and cold refreshments.

Payment Link: https://www.gofundme.com/8th-annual-snakes-at-the-lake Reservations are requested by no later than Sunday June 18th. This event is rain or shine and payments are non-refundable. Thanks!

So mark your calendars and post-up if you’re interested in joining us for a great day on the road and at the lake with other “Powered by Ford” enthusiasts.

For ease of editing, I’ll maintain the list of SATL-8 attendees in Post #2 at this Team Shelby link: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/in...-the-lake-tahoe-cruise-saturday-june-24-2017/

Here’s the address where we’ll be meeting in Old Town Sac. Front and 101 K Streets, Sacramento, CA 95814. Let’s plan on arriving around 8:00am and we’ll head out about 8:30am. Note: We’ll be at Steamers on the corner to process your registrations (and get a morning caffeine fix ;-)

This is an amazing event! Jim does an incredible job organizing this cruise and car show. There is no better venue in the known universe than Lake Tahoe in June. Can't wait to see all my good friends after a couple years absence!

I'm finally registered. I thought I might have a conflict but there's no way I'm missing Fat Boss's new to him GT350 Wide Body!

Rick,

Great to have you and several other TMO members with us again this year for SATL-8!

In addition to LAB's new Shelby GT350 WB, we have a great mix of Blue Oval muscle scheduled to attend.

Best,

Jim

Registered, hope to see some TMO friends there. This is a great event.

We will be staying in Sacramento Friday Night and overnight in Tahoe on Saturday. If you want to stay overnight, best to book your room ASAP, limited availability now.

Jim- Are chains going to be required? Gonna be hard to find some to fit the 345's.

Andy,

Current forecast in Tahoe for the 24th is in the mid to upper 70's, and it appears CalTrans will have the Highway 50 mudslide near Kyburz under control - so I think the WB is in the clear!

Best,

Jim

Ok, days away from my favorite event of the year. @CA302LS what time are you expecting to be driving through Folsom so Bruce and the rest of us can catch up with the Pony Express heading up Hwy 50?

Rick,

The plan is to leave OTS at 8:30am sharp, which should have us passing Scott Road @ Hwy 50 about 9am. I suspect we'll be running 5 - 10 minutes late. I will attempt to call Bruce when we pass Sunrise.

Also, a couple of spaces have freed up if anyone is interested. E-mail me at [email protected] if you want to make a reservation. Thanks.

Best,

Jim

Man, That surly looks like a great event to be had by all involved! I'm sure everyone will have a great time! I just wish there was something like that going on in this neck of the woods. Maybe not enough Ford muscle fans to support it around here? Everybody out there Saturday, have a Great day!!

WOW !!! 80+ cars this year???

I'll be jumping on 101 south of San Jose @ Bailey just after 5am on Sat, joining up with Marty in his new 2013 GT500 somewhere along 680, then meeting up in Concord at 6 and rolling with the group into Old Town Sac.

Andy,

Marty sent me a message Tuesday advising a family issue came up and he won't be able to join us on Saturday.

See you in Concord.

Best,

Jim

PS: For similar reasons, a few spaces are now available...
