Great time out instructing at Barber Motorsports Park with Chin Track Days, last weekend. Great to meet a few of our TMO members in person and share some conversation, and track time.

Video of my fastest laps from Barber this past weekend, including a new PB for me(1:45:4). Had a slick let go on day one so ran the rest of the weekend on used 19" RE71's and have to say...TOTALLY impressed with how they performed. 1:42 was very doable, I left plenty of time out there, and the track got really hot...as you can see on last lap through turn 41f642.png :) my predictive on that lap showed 1:44:7 and screwed up shift at the end, either way really happy with how the car performed with outside air temps approaching 100 degrees

Check out the 30 second mark in this video to see what happens when the corded slick also deflates....

fun track, big sweepers and lots of leg room. I like.
Good save BTW.

Had a great (but hot) time last weekend with the Great Plains Porsche Club, driving at Motorsport Park Hastings. Two run groups, 30 minute sessions. But most of us only stayed out for 20 minutes due to the heat (drivers, and tires got hot).
I was in the fast group, and managed to pick off quite a few in my group (but not the GT4 on Hoosers!).
Put my new Hankook R-S4 285/35/18 on Saturday noon, and snagged a PB Sunday morning with a 1:43.884. That was after sifting thru the herd and tires getting a bit greasy, so I'm thinking a 1:42 is doable.
Here's some vids - each a single lap. I start following a Cayman, driven by a former B-52 pilot I was stationed with back in the day in Minot ND.

That could have been a lot worse, nice save. I imagine based on your comment that you were able to limp it into the pits before the tire disintegrated and chewed up any bodywork.

Unrelated note--very smooth driving! Your steering and shifting inputs look relaxed, nonchalant :)

Finally uploaded some video from 3 Balls Racing @ Grattan Raceway from July 8. There are some great battles with a C6 Z06, Cadillac ATS-V, Porsche GT3?, and C5 Z06. I was very impressed that the ATS sedan could hustle around the track as fast as it did.

Sorry for the audio my GoPro external audio jack has quit working.

Fast forward to 5:15

I like the clarity of the video! What Camera and settings do you use? I have a GoPro 3 and use the 1080 x 30 fps and the quality of my video sucks in comparison.

I have the same set-up. I just watched your video. I think your picture looks HD for sure, its just that your mount blows ;) Maybe where your watching the internet speed isn't allowing HD streaming?

What case/microphone are you using? Sounds Good!!!

@smallblock nice driving. Those ATS V's are no joke. The new Camaro is based on the same platform. One safety item check your Hans strap. I believe it should pull straight back.

Yes, I got rid of that mount and did something a little different that seems to work. The Mic is just an Amazon 5 dollar special, plugged into GoPros mini USB adapter, taped to the rear bumper.

Thanks I'll have to check that out it was my first time using it.

Not sure about the nice driving tho, turn 3 was giving me fits all day, couldn't hit the apex to save my life lol. Grattan is a great track like that, there are always areas to improve no matter your skill. The dropping corner entries are a challenge.

As a side note, I had also switched to a 18mm rear sway bar from the stock 24mm and did not like it at all, the car felt too tight for my taste. I have a 22mm coming in the mail.

It looked like you were pushing a bit in a couple of corners. Are you on a square tire setup?

Yeah 305 Square. I was getting that dreaded understeer chatter on occasion as well. Stock bar was exciting but too loose. I just over achieved with the 18mm. I think that works better with coilovers where there is inherently more roll stiffness.
Stock swaybar @ 2:20:
Front tire by end of day:
