Well it wasn't today, but in the last couple of weekends, I've installed R-springs and rear sway bar, Vorshlag camber plates, and the Watson 4-point. I got an unpainted bar from @OPMustang Tim and had it powder coated to match my AG car. I'm very pleased with the result. The roll bar really stiffens up the chassis more than I expected as the car already felt pretty solid before. I installed the R-springs first and the car felt a little bouncy as though it needed more damping but after I put the roll bar in, it feels much better.

Once I get the harnesses installed, I'll post some completed pics. Hopefully the weather will cool down out here in Austin so I can get back to the track soon.

Yesterday... but full alignment with some very agressive track specs :). The car is reborn as a new beast, super agile, super light, gonna have to learn to drive it all over again ...

I also took the opportunity while it was on a lift to take some photos and measurements for a splitter and diffuser as the original ones are a bit "light" for my taste :)
That should make a nice aero package with the front canards and hood vents that I'll build next winter :)
 
Closer to track day. New fluids in, Ford brake duct kit and Steeda jack rails installed. It was like old times. A lifelong friend who used to have a mechanic shop came by and the car is ready. Now he pastors a small mission church back in the old neighborhood. There he helps people by fixing their cars like when we were kids. Now of course helps them spirtually as well. Memories of Rankin Road and Texas World Speedway.

Member @Tob may have some insight on this subject.

Tob has pictures of the GT4 cars using the standard GT air box in the 6G forum.

Granted the GT350 air filter housing does not seal 100% to the hood, but I think there might be some real world horsepower missing due to that air inlet restriction. The expedient thing would be to add a passage to the radiator inlet area. Not sure I want to cut things up.

The air filter intake duct and the radiator side air fence basically touching. You could hole saw a passage to route some of that air to the air filter duct.

The hood seal is probably pretty good but that I'm thinking at high rpms it's drawing air from every crevice in that seal.

I have never had the front end off to see if I'm missing something.

Ford tested with upper grilles that had more total open surface area with respect to the intake tract. Here's a shot with a block off plate in place during cold weather testing.

I'm not here to argue efficacy or necessity as the powerplant does pretty darn good with the rather restrictive inlet in place. When I had my front fascia off for front hook mount work I decided to open mine up a little. Here is the "funnel" in place behind the factory upper grille.

With the grille block off plate removed and placed in front of the honeycomb portion, you can see how the majority of the funnel is blocked off, leaving a very small opening over to the right for air to flow through.

I trimmed the plate with a few things in mind. I kept the new opening a little higher to avert clash between the newfound stream and the original one. You could argue that from an aesthetic perspective that it looks off and I wouldn't disagree. There is a slice taken out of the funnel on the lower left hand corner which precludes a more symmetrical opening that would be at the same elevations as the radiator opening or the original, small opening for the intake tract. I could have gone bigger but was concerned about a false air reading at the mass airflow sensor (which has proven to be a non-issue) as well as additional water intrusion during a heavy downpour at speed (another concern that was invalidated). You are a bit limited as to placement due to the upper fang location which splits the two openings.
