Hello everyone! I recently started down the modification path on my '12 Boss after running around stock since it was new. Good news is I'm falling in love with my car again. Bad news, driving it even remotely hard on the street is insane. So I'm planning to start trying some HPDE track days here in Tucson.

Busdriver, Welcome.

It’s a fun path!!

HPDE is a lot of fun. Past mistakes, not mine of course :( to be avoided. Spend time and money on safety and driver mods. A good helmet, gloves, bar and harnesses will go a long way to keep you secure. Money spent on good instruction will continue to pay you back long after the nice set of two piece rotors have gone to the scrap yard. Do upgrade brake pads, fluid and cooling.

Then get on track and enjoy the Boss in its natural environment. :)

BusDriver: Welcome to TMO and nice pic of your 2012 KB Boss 302 Mustang. You’ll love running the Boss on track. Good luck and keep us posted on your mods.

What have you done thus far?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I've been using "Busdriver" as a forum name for a long time, I'm a helicopter pilot so the joke is I just just drive the bus. I guess I really can hit 3 & 4th "on the fly."
As of last night, I'm signed up for the newbie orientation on the 24th up in Phoenix.

This may be evidence of receiving TMSBOSS' excellent advice a bit late, I basically just bought a bunch of stuff I thought looked like a good idea.
-Airaid intake
-Accufab 84.5mm TB
-Ported Boss intake manifold (I left the original, serial numbered part alone and bought another in case I screwed it up)
-Stainless brakelines
-Steeda Boss springs
-Koni Yellow struts and shocks
-302R lower control arms w/ relocation brackets
-Adjustable PHB
-MM Caster/Camber plates
-Steeda x-brace
-DSS one piece aluminum drive shaft
-Blowfish shifter bracket and FRPP short throw shifter
-Flowmaster cat-back exhaust w/ QTP cutouts
-19x10/11 SVE R350 wheels with 295s Nitto 555G2s up front and 305s in the rear
-JLT oil seperator
-Odyssey battery
-removed the clutch assist spring (I broke the plastic perch trying to swap in a Steeda spring, so spring-less it is.)

This stuff is sitting in my garage waiting for time /to find a shop to do the work (I have no desire to do headers or clutch myself):
-RST clutch
-Mcleod steel flywheel
-Stainless clutch line
-Kooks super street shorty headers
-BMR motor mounts
-pile of hardware to relocate the coolant reservoir

I also ordered a Steeda Q hood, but it's backordered till who knows when.

@DIG Motorsports Jeremy welcome to TMO. I was hoping to make the COTA event but I can't make it now. There are 2-3 other guys here in NorCal that are interested in going. I'm happy to help organize and provide contacts.

Hi everyone, have myself a RHD 2017 Grabber blue GT that I'm hoping to get some track time with in Perth Australia. Great forum, been reading for awhile now. Been collecting parts for the last few months and started installing suspension etc last week on my time off.

Hello fellow Mustang enthusiasts, my name is Mark. I bought my 2012 Boss 302, used from a classic car reseller in late 2013. At that time, it only had 3800 miles and was in mint condition. I have been interested in HPDE for some time, and when Ford introduced the Boss, I knew that was the car for me. Since then, I've had about 20 track days, mostly at VIR, but also at Dominion, Watkins Glen, Summit Point, Roebling and AMP. As for upgrades, I've done 2 sets, one focused on solving the high rev shifting issue, and the other focused more on safety. Really love this car, especially now that I have become a better driver and can appreciate the performance better.. Looking forward to more performance mods going forward and getting y'alls recommendations.
