Well, this has been out for about a year now, but I never brought it to everyone's attention here. I started this as a weight reduction project for my track car, never intending it to be a product. It turned out really well and saved about 5lbs. I posted it up somewhere on Facebook and ended up with a lot of response towards a version that worked for the 13.8" GT500 brakes (saves 7lbs). I made it, tested it and began to sell both the 11.8" and 13.8" versions.

Unsprung weight savings is tough to do, and even harder on the solid rear axle. This is one of the few places to do it. It isn't a quick job, as the axles need to be pulled, but if you happen to be inside the differential and find yourself needing to pull the axles, that is the perfect time to add these!

I have a set. They work great.
If you have been on track with the stock brakes, they cook the axel seals. You may want to pull the axels and check the seals.
While you are there, swap in a set of these mounts. Stock Ford rotors and a slight relief on the calipers brackets are all thats needed. An inexpensive upgrade.

What’s the relief on the caliper bracket for? I’m chasing a strange issue on my setup that might be related. I’ll have to get a picture shortly

I have a set waiting for installation along with my PFC rear brake upgrade kit (larger floating rotor and caliper bracket) to be done during my in between season maintenance along with AP Racing front calipers. All the stop coming soon.

The pieces are really nice and can’t wait to get them on the car.

I am curious as well as to the clearancing you had to do and why. Can you elaborate?

I had a slight rub between the outside of the rotor on the Caliper bracket. I little relief with a die grinder and everything fix. Not Steve’s bracket, the Caliper mounting bracket. They were not the original brackets which came with my Boss. I replaced the originals earlier.

Yup, that’s why. The factory GT/boss/v6 caliper slider bracket has a shallower radius molded in. When using the 13.8 rotor, the outer edges need to be ground back a bit for the larger diameter rotor. This would happen even if utilizing the stock gt500 caliper mount bracket instead of my aluminum version.

I don’t think there’s any need to replace them with the gt500 version. Just hit it with a dremel bit. It’s really a small amount that is basically leftover casting flash, if I recall correctly. I did mention this issue when I posted up on the FB page originally, but I neglected to carry it over to the product description and it has no instructions. That’s my fault. I will add a note in the boxes about this and add it to the website.
