My bad, I was thinking of Chuckwalla.

LOL. A friend did that to me once. I thought I was getting a private invite to Thermal...ended up being a regular day at Chuckwalla.

Chuckwalla is super fun.
Gotta get back there soon...dates this spring aren't working for me so far. :(

We did a BMO day at Chuckwalla back in 2012 or 2013? Grant when was that? That was the first time I met Grant, Drew, Gary, Chris, John and a few other members. Fun track but a long haul from NorCal. A few of us rented class cars and broke them in real well. LOL
okay, so whats big and fast nearby besides Laguna?

Too many slow and off camber corners, too narrow in what should be prime passing spots.
Laguna flows and it's plenty wide enough almost everywhere.
When I was doing oval tracks they are all, well...oval. But some were just faster than others because of the shape. Example, Mesa Marin was a fast half mile with very high banks and long straights, but Altamont Speedway half mile with its long corners and low bank let you carry more speed and lap times were way faster, even with way less bank and less straightaway. Laguna is like that. Only a couple slow spots, 2 and 11. The rest let you carry the speed and go go go.....

Feb '13, IIRC. 2 Johns - ls110 and Keavdog. Jason who sold Andy his 2nd Boss. Also John's friend with the 'vette. Good times. Too bad that restaurant we went to closed. I remember people being surprised how much stuff I fit in the car...and I was picking up parts from Chris. That was *before* I started bringing a set of tires in the car.

JMO, but every supercharged car should visit Fontana for the ROVAL config at least once. And you've run high banked tracks before. I think it scares people a bit the first time out.

No real 'slow' turns at Chuckwalla. T9 off-camber + hill is probably it. I love it. Perfect new paving with lots of clear run-off everywhere.

Both are pretty far for you, but I think you'd like both. Bucket list stuff at the very least.

I'd like to run some different tracks this year....but if I'm going far I'd like them to rock. Thanks for the recommendation. :)

@Fabman here is what Chuckwalla looks like at-speed. Not an iconic track but very fast and fun.

I love it. Especially the brake markers....very clearly posted.
TMO day anyone?

FWIW I will be there with NASA AZ on the weekend of 2/17 and possibly back in March with ProAutosports/Speedventures on the weekend of 3/17...
My season is going to start a little later this year. Any plans to return?
