Pet peeve of the week....I was out in the Boss Friday and stopped at the store for a few things.I Parked away from other cars for peace of mind. Low and behold some guy in a minivan pulls up one space away from me. As I'm going into my store, He's on his way to the fast food joint (POPEYE'S) that was recently added to the parking lot.Well, anyway, As I'm leaving my store and getting in my Boss He must have just finished his lunch he was eating in his minivan and started to throw unwanted french fries out his window. Almost immediately a flock of 20-30 seagulls appeared for the french fries and a bombing mission. (maybe this is a routine adventure for this nut) I tried to get outta there as fast as I could but the Boss took a hit on the windshield (Thank God not on the paint) right in my field of vision , of course! I was scared to use the washer fluid and wipers for fear things could get worse. Moral of the story...your best laid plans may not always come up to your expectations ( that's the polite version!)

When I started reading I thought you got doored. Man, there's little worse than that feeling you get when you've been doored. I park way the hell out in the boonies if I have to park in a lot. I'll take seagull dung on the windshield over a door job any day, though taking one on the stripes might cost as much to fix as a door job does.

Jdee, I just seem to have very bad luck in parking lots! A few years back, the wife sent me out for a few things for Sunday dinner. It was a beautiful summer Sunday afternoon so I said to myself I'll take the Boss...BIG mistake!!! As I pulled into the parking lot some old guy started backing out of his spot without obviously looking and nailed my front fender, another second and he would have gotten the door too. This happen at less than 1 MPH but I could barely get my door open because of the fender damage. He mentioned he just bought ice cream and was on his way home before it melted.....@%$?*^!!!!....Well by the time the police came to file their report, I'm sure his ice cream was no longer frozen.:)....I would have much better liked to get doored that day.

You can’t trust those old guys. ;)

What? My love and admiration is not enough?

Material goods should not make a good relationship. Just looking at my Boss is the best present one could ever dream of.

Okay, seeing me running around the road course in the Boss is a great present. Easy on the eyes since I'm not so hard to follow at my speed. I even can blow kisses out the window as I pass by!

Tyme, The turtles and snails are amazed when you blow by them at such high speeds...what was I thinking???? I'm parking my Boss for a while just because I'm in AWE!!!......and maybe because I need a fill up soon............

I see Austin Dillon won Daytona on a last lap "push" of Aric Almirola. Anybody's take on that???? Just racing or did Number 3 get away with one??? Not much said afterwards altho Almirola was devastated since he was poised to win.

I thought it was the capper for a weekend of silly "racing". Nascar really jumped the shark with the no ride height rule, they had to know with zero rear suspension travel the cars were going to drive badly and it would be a wreckfest. It was obvious from the first practice the cars were all over the place.

All 3 races were poor, especially Xfinity, five restarts at the end before they could complete 1 lap? And the end of the Cup race, takes no skill to win by dumping the guy ahead as Dillon did. Says a lot about what "racing" Nascar style is. The "WWE on Wheels" moniker was well earned this weekend.

Plate racing is dismal, Daytona and Talladega need to have the banks knocked way down so they have to brake or at least lift for corners and get rid of the plates. But then it would probably be boring racing like the cookie cutters produce. Rather watch a short track race any day.

Not that I have much of an opinion about it or anything.....:p:D:)

You're right JDee, Plate "racing" is just about drafting, getting in a pack and trying to avoid the "big one". When Daytona and Taladega were built, no one back then ever considered they would be too fast for their own good, but as cars got faster that changed for safety reasons. That high banking was impressive in the early days.........still is but not for the same reasons...sad to say..........
