FS: Price Reduced - New in box - KW Varient 1 Coilovers

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

For Sale is a set of new KW Varient 1 Coilovers for S197 Chassis. I purchased these from another guy who got rid of his car before installing them. Now that my car is being converted to a full race car I've decided to go another direction.

KW Kit model # 10230045
Front Shock Model # 3001022
Rear Shock Model # 300122

The rear shocks and springs are separate; like the stock setup, but with an adjustable spring perch for height adjustment.

The Varient 1's are pre-valved and only height adjustable.

Front helper springs and 2 adjustment tools are included with the kit.

The the box has been opened but they've never been removed from it or installed.

See link below for more details.

https://www.amazon.com/KW-10230045-Variant-1-Coilover/dp/B0042FA0F4

They are new and still in the box with all original parts, but I'll be happy to email pictures to serious buyers.

$1200 OBO - All reasonable offers will be considered (Retail price: $1652.00) - Shipping to continental US included in purchase price.

Do you happen to know the spring rates?

From what I've been able to find on the KW website and through other forums is that the Varient 1's have a progressive spring rate. The rate(s) aren't published anywhere, nor are they included in any of the material provided with the kit. Being progressive they should offer a more comfortable ride on the street than a linear spring. At the same time, I'd expect that the progressive rate is higher than the stock Boss springs; making them an upgrade for the track too. If your main focus is track performance and you're willing to sacrifice the ride on the street, you'll be better off getting a more expensive set with high linear spring rates. However, if your car is driven mainly on the street with the occasional track day, these should work great.

I’ll have to pass on these as I am getting away from progressive springs as my car is a dedicated track car and sees very little street time
Definitely the right call for a car that's mainly being used on track. I came across these Eibach R2's for a great price on eBay. I've talked to several track day enthusiasts and racers that use them and had nothing but good things to say. I would have picked them up myself if I hadn't already bought JRI's from Cortex. I've also included a link for a nice set of track focused Koni coilovers I came across. Pointing out these options probably isn't the best sales strategy for me, but it's all good if I can help a fellow member find exactly what they're looking for.
