Would R spring on regular gt350 ruin the balance of the car?

Before I posted this thread, I did some search on this topic but there is no definite answer.
Before I installed the R springs and R swaybar on my car, I thought the shock structure is the same between the two cars. However, I did confirm with other couple sources that the shocking tuning is different between the two models. So the question would be: Would adding R springs on the regular gt350 ruin the balance of the car?

The word "ruin" is an overstatement. There are mixed opinions on the differences in the R and non-R shocks, but the bottom line is that they perform differently. Some contend that the difference is in the shock controller programming and some say it's in the shock itself. I don't know. Now that I have a DSC Sport shock controller in my car, if I don't like the way the shocks are working, I can change a few settings with a laptop and make them work differently.

So did u do anything to ur suspension setup except the DSC controller?
 
The programming and dampers are different between the GT350 and GT350R. It was explained to me from the Ford VDE that worked on the suspension that the "slot gap" is smaller on the R dampers which makes them stiffer throughout their travel. The guys at DSC do not think there is enough difference between the two dampers to worry about it and that their controller will more than make up for the difference.

The R springs do not fundamentally change the "balance" of the car. I would say it decreases the modest understeer of the non-R to neutral. I would suggest the real reason to go to R springs is to maintain the same amount of roll as the non-R when you install stickier tires.

No. I was going to put in R shocks, R front springs and the R rear sway bar, but the improvement that I got from the DSC controller gave me enough that I decided not to install the R parts. Doesn't mean I won't, but I was looking for a faster, easier to drive car for this year and I've got it.

Thanks for the info. I see that most people go with the DSC shock controller to fine tune the suspension for track use. I will be tracking this car in May to see if I really need any type of suspension upgrade.

Good point. I remember putting stickier tires on my other cars and body roll definitely increases. So I will be keeping this setup along with 305 re71r to see how it performs on track in May.

Just wondering, haven't really seen people upgrade their cars with 2-way race coilover, such as JRZ or KW. That means the stock suspension is pretty capable on track?
