I think it will be a challenge having human and autonomous drivers sharing the road. Although I ordered all of it my wife is not planning on using much if any of it until it's well proven. The reason I ordered the options is for resale value and to future proof it at least for a couple of years.

Are you expecting human drivers to gradually learn to take advantage of the autonomous ones? Or that a second human driver following the autonomous one would then be more at risk because of what the autonomous car might suddenly do in reaction?

I have no expectations other than I wanted this car to have full capabilities that are available now just in case this all gets figured out. I do think in order for autonomous cars to work all the cars on the road need to be communicating to each other.
that would put an end to classic cars shows. What about flying cars like the jetsons had? This would be the next iteration. Isn't Amazon or Uber experimenting with this?

Pretty sure I don't want my car always broadcasting its speed electronically.

Pretty sure the autonomous side wouldn't want my car to be broadcasting false speed information if, say, it was running on tires significantly taller or shorter than stock.

Just like the non use of turn signals by some people that think its none of your business what their intentions are.......

For me it's not really so much about the safety end of it, I'm sure with time they'll actually make this stuff work.

The deal for me is I like to drive! And I'm damned if I'm willing to give that up for a robot or a person or whatever while I'm still able to drive safely.

Maybe if I reach doddering old age I'll welcome a robot driver though...."Jeeves, take me to the beer store". That might work.:D
