Got a 2018 GT non-pp, that I plan on running at multiple track days per year, I’ve upgraded the springs, pads and tires and would like some advice for when it gets time for new/upgraded rotors.

Probably the Centric rotors

However, the non-Brembo non-PP brakes have an inherent weakness in that they are vented from the wheel side rather than the hub side. If you will be doing multiple track days, you should probably run brake ducts but you can't do it with the non-PP brakes.

If you’re serious about track days please take @Fair advise. Upgrade to brembos and get the master cylinder. The stock brakes are dangerous and not only could you get hurt but you could hurt others as well.

Thanks for the info/video and the insight into the base GTs braking issues. I ran through a set of stock pads during a Track day and just attributed it to lousy OEM pads. An upgrade will be in the near future.

Can anybody provide me with the Ford part number for the brake booster that goes with the PP master cylinder?

The rotors you provided the link for vent to the wheel side according to the diagram. Does anyone know if/where there are hub side 14” vented rotors for the base GT?

Don't believe there are, which is why the suggestion was made to upgrade to the Brembos and to check out Terry Fair's posts here regarding his experience with the stock GT brakes. At the very least the PP six piston Brembo kit would be a good start, for non-racing HPDE type stuff those brakes work very well. The stock Ford rotors are long lasting and the pads for the PP Brembos are a fine dual purpose pad, dusty but long wearing and give very good brake performance.

$1800 for a pair of rotors? -- ouch. For a full race car- sure- but a mostly street car.... =-(

I have to imagine that there will be a cheaper "normal" rotor made for them by someone soon. What were those engineers thinking?

blk2017 - These rotors from Steeda are for the PP 15" rotors, not the base 14".

zirfj312 - As JDee indicated, you can't get hub side vented rotors for the 14" S550. I thought you already decided to upgrade after viewing the videos.

Yes, an upgrade is in the works. I was just interested as to what is out there for this car. I purposely bought the base GT so I could slowly build the car to my liking and skill level.

Me too, I like to tinker. You'll end up spending more money to upgrade the 4pots and still end up with a less effective braking system than if you swapped to stock 6pot brembos. Complete sets of "new" take-offs can be bought from shelby on ebay ~$500-650 (auction). That's where mine are from. They will come with lines (don't need), calipers, rotors, and pads. Good time to flush and upgrade the brake fluid since you'll need to bleed.

Alternative: the calipers go for $250-300 each from ford or a retailer of ford parts. There are two versions, the PP is wrinkle black with red letters and the 50th annivs are gloss black with white letters. Stock rotors will run ~$150/ea and then just pick your preferred pad. The brakes lines are the same on both cars so no swap there. I planned to modify the stock 4pot shields for venting instead of adding the PP air deflectors and PP ball joint shields but time has not allowed yet.

4 track days (20min x 4/day) on RBF600, PP calipers, PP rotors, and stock PP pads. There is some chatter about the booster, the part numbers have a different suffix, I didn't swap mine YMMV
