Well...It happened! Oil Filter let go

I guess when I get my Shelby back with its new engine, I'll do the motorcycle oil filter mod: tighten a worm-gear hose clamp around the filter and then safety wire the clamp to something to prevent rotation.

If it’s torqued on properly you shouldn’t experience an issue. I am the only one to touch my car. Never had a filter give out on the track.

The hose clamp is a great idea.

Used to safety wire my motorcycle for the track

I think it's required on Bikes correct?
We had to safety wire almost every thing and screwed on in my Dad's Airplane
can't tell you haw many times I checked those wires before we took off. FAA Requirement
sure would hate to loose an oil filter at 8000 ft

If your worried about the hose clamp loosening you can do it this way

It was required with groups I tracked with. Wired the filter, drain plug, brake lines. Basically anything carrying critical fluids do nothing spilled on track.

All...Just wanted to update on the situation. After several months of back and forth with Ford, getting my finance statements and all purchase information to Ford....they purchased my GT350 back from me for the full amount including all interest. They never really pushed back at any point along the way and the process was actually very smooth. Just took awhile.
Now, for the even better news...the dealer that I was working with on my wrecked GT350 was awesome. They secured me a new GT350 from their inbound inventory. And while I was awaiting the arrival of that car, they had a GT350R that was supposed to be sold. Well, the deal fell through and the GM who had been informed of my situation and felt sorry for me, gave the sales manager the ok to sell me the GT350R for just about sticker. As bad as everything started out...it sure ended up stellar! The “R” is amazing! Drives way different than the GT350. On track...sticks like glue. And BTW did I mention Leadfoot Gray?
