Good day to all! Had a great race this Saturday but the highlight was My friends Cortex equiped 1967 notchback. Here is a Video of him battling a Mclaren.... He was on 320/650-18 Contis that would not get hot that day. Normally he would have won this battle if he had been on R7s. The morning track temp was 2 deg C.

Any tips for the suspension?? He certainly gets that front inside wheel in the air!

Actually you can see that he has too much squat and is three wheeling a lot of the time... He could not get the power down as he usually would with lots of understeer. Its a total cortex setup sith SLA and cambered stick etc. With the little help of a Ford Performance 427 ;)

He has the watts link on the highest position, torque arm and all the goodies but the inside front tire seldom touches the ground when under power. think he needs a rear sway bar (has none)....

His best lap times is 3 sec faster then on the video.

Based on that info, he might need a stiffer rear spring set (if he can do it without upsetting the ride) and/or needs to increase rear compression damping (if he has low-speed compression adjustment). If he doesn't have low speed compression adjustment, he can try increasing low-speed rebound in the front.

Both of those damper adjustments should help slow/control the way the car transfers weight to the rear. The rear compression one will do it and actually add traction, as well.

What Drew said plus less squat maybe by raising the rear ride height or via control arm adjustment. Adding a rear bar would be a last option to me.

With the way the front is pogo-ing at ~15sec and at the end of the video, low speed damping on the rear looks like it could be increased both compression and rebound. I'm guessing that's the slowest turn on the course.

Corner balance and weight distribution might help too...looks like it was more of a left hand turn issue.

Perfect... I listed the rear bar as the very last option. Looks like the main culprit was that they added a stiffer spring f..... " too add more grip.." NOT!! Since it has a SLA front suspension the spring rates are quite different then our more humble fronts or at least thats what I understand......?.

Anyone want to critique this for me?

It seems there's a lot of time in a gear higher than you need to be. There are a few places where you're upshifting earlier than needed or when not needed.

Also noticed you changed your grip on the left to move your index finger over the wheel spoke early in the video. No big deal, but I'd try to keep the grip the same.

Stiffer front bar? Maybe softer on the front bar too, then.

Spring rates on the SLA will be higher for similar wheel rates.
