What you need, when you need it, no excuses.
Competition Motorsport would like to introduce our newest roll bar product: the CMS Performance Roll Bar for the Mustang S550, Shelby GT350 and GT500. It is a bolt-in four-point roll bar made from Docol R8, a modern ultra-high-strength steel that surpasses 4130 CrMo in every respect. It is fully TIG welded, CMS professionally powder coats each roll bar to your specification -- any color you like -- and we ship anywhere in the lower 48, all for one price.

We've been building bolt-in roll bars for years for the Porsche market -- GT3, GT3RS, Cayman GT4 and 987 Cayman -- and the arrival of our own GT350, we wanted to use the expertise we've gained to create a premium product for the S550, GT350, and GT500.

Fitment is guaranteed to be drop-in. We can't stand having to wrestle roll bars into cars, so we've perfected our manufacturing to the point where everything lines up perfectly. We include all the hardware you need for installation, even drill bits (there is drilling in one step). Installation takes a couple guys about three hours. You can check out the full instructions HERE.

We build all our roll bars (and race car chassis) out of Docol R8, an ultra-high-strength steel that is 10-15% stronger than 4130 CrMo and about 40% stronger than mild DOM steel used in a lot of roll bars. R8 doesn't crack under deformation and doesn't get brittle at the welds like 4130. All of that lets us use 1.75" x .095" tubing to bring down weight while maintaining superior strength, impact absorption and rigidity. As a result, the CMS roll bar weighs just 52 lbs. despite using all 1-3/4" tubing for a beefy look befitting the Mustang.

We are offering TrackMustangOnline members introductory pricing on the new CMS Performance Roll Bar. Just PM us for details or give us a call at (844) 438-7244!

so as Im looking at this, which is a great idea. You're saying to dont need to trim the interior panels? And the mounts onto the sub structure will hold up in a roll over or side collision?

Thanks, Byron. You're correct, you don't trim interior panels at all. In fact, you don't have to remove them, but it makes it easier not to scuff them up when putting the roll bar in (and they're super-easy to remove). The mounts to the sub-structure are in a reinforced area of the rear tub, and our roll bar is designed to direct roll-over energy into the corner of that structure for added strength. In terms of side collision, what we've found is using a smaller angle between the main hoop and the kickers (in this case, 35 degrees) allows the kickers to add more lateral stability to the main hoop. The CMS roll bar main hoop is through-bolted to the main high-strength steel crossmember (not just the adjoining sheet metal) using Grade 8 hardware, further adding to off-axis (side- or top-side) impact stability. Lastly, the fact that Docol R8 is much stronger than the typical DOM mild steel used contributes to impact absorption (the more a bar tries to deform under load, the more likely it is to tear away from its moorings).
