Great Shots!

Wow looks like a blast!! Absolutely nice actions shots also!

F1 tracks are something else! I had a chance to drive on the Montreal track on the wednesday before the race last year on a planned event with AMG. We basically drove the track duty cars (C63/E63/SL63/GT) in a lead-follow setup. It was impressive to be on the race prepped track while they were conducting tests with all the LED signs (yellow/blue/red flags/SC)! Also had a chance to chat with SC driver Bernd Maylander.

Drove Wild Horse Pass East again yesterday in a half-day event (to avoid the heat). The reduced schedule allowed 3 sessions and then the time attack. The positive side is that I was able to achieve 1:03.7 in Time Attack, which is a four-second improvement over my last time there on MPSS, no aero and cooler temperatures. I placed second in class (of two since most people run unclassed) but also second overall out of around 20 cars. First place was an S550 GT that got me by a little under a second. Hats off to that driving!

Now to clean up the car after the last two weeks of dirt and debris!

Congratulations!

All cleaned up and switch back to "road mode"! Now it's time for a little road trip in the 350! My wife and I are leaving today to hit up the FPRS for the GT350 Track Attack for this car and the RS Adrenaline Academy for our RS. She's going to do the RS Academy since I've been such a hog on these programs for my Ford patronage over the last 5 years.

We'll be stopping over in Las Vegas tonight just to break up the drive a little. This is the last hurrah of a whirlwind month with a work-trip to Denver and Austin, and now Salt Lake City. Looking forward to a quiet summer after this. But for now, we drive!

Taking advantage of the summer downtime, I changed my trans and axle fluid today after 8500 miles and 9 track hours. I swapped to Red Line MTL in the trans at 1500, but I didn't like how much I felt the gears at lower temperatures so I switched back to OE Mercon LV ATF. For the diff, I'm sticking with Red Line 75w140 w/ Motorcraft modifier. Great news is that I got to try turning on the diff pump via Forscan to purge it and it worked beautifully. One trip (roughly 5 seconds) was all it needed.

Wow...awesome thread. I have been looking into improving the aero on the GT350 and was looking into the setup you went with. My question is if the front splitter (APR unit) is strong enough to balance the amount of force generated by the APR rear wing. I feel like it's going to flex too much no?

When you swap trunk lids, do you keep the hinges and struts on the car or do you have them on each lid?

Yeah, unbolted at the lid. There's only 4 nuts. I didn't mess with the hinge assembly at all. That would be much harder to align and bolt alone.

I think this car has sold. Matt might still be checking in on this thread...

Yeah, long gone but I'm still subscribed to this.
