Great seeing this thread continue on...

A buddy is looking for a 14' 302S white, newer condition and not a BIW and/or a used up ex-PWC unit. I know Colin's Classics has what he wants at $72.5- but my pal is cheap.

I told him high $60's-70k is reasonable especially since it's new.

How's the S market currently? Any leads?

Once more question-

Boss 302S car cover options. What do you guys use?

I know Capaldi Racing offers one or a custom job from California Car covers/ assorted XYZ companies...

What say you?

I have one with mine but not sure where it was originally purchased. Would think California car cover would be able to do one. Will check mine the next time I am at my son's ---stored in his garage at present. I do have a white 302S, but not thinking of selling. Prices are pretty stable since the FP350 is unobtanium and a bunch more money.

I have been watching 5 on a Racing Junk, 2 S’s and 3 R’s. Contacted the owners and they claimed are Watson cars. Priced in the mid-50’s. Seems reasonable now that teams are moving to the new platform.

I have been watching those too.

Watson didn’t build the original R’s. MultiMatic built them. Those three are clones built by Watson from BIWs.

All 5 of the cars will need $ to be solid cars again. They are well used.

I am always in the market for a true R if anyone knows of one for sale.

Buying a True 302S or 302R and wanting cheap entry is probably not the best match. I haven't seen many True cars up for sale and those that are typically seem to hold their value. Most common are the clones built by various race shops. Depending on the race shop some started with BIW and some started with used or wrecked Mustang GT or Boss 302 street cars depending on the shop and the build cost they were trying to achieve. The clones may be best option for your buddy as their price points are significantly lower. If he wants a True S or R, he needs to save up more money.

Thanks for the note. ^ Agree with all the above.

There are probably only a handful of virgin S models left and even fewer FS. Then couple those limited numbers with his desire to buy a white '14 and pickens get thin.

Let him know what yours is worth to you and then he may see the value. I know , at present, I would hesitate to sell mine at that figure considering all the stuff I have invested or in duplicate!

Well that’s the rub, he knows I stole mine at .50 cents on the dollar.

I explained it was a freak opportunity with a exhausted seller when I rolled up my cash insult offer. Who would have thunk he’d take it.

If I’d paid $75k he’d already bought #34 from Colin. Lol.

I'd tell your buddy "be patient." It may take weeks or months, but keep checking the usual sites, and when one comes up that fits the bill, have a price range in mind and be ready (and don't hesitate) to pull the trigger when the right opportunity presents itself. Naturally, you can expect to pay more for a "virgin" R or S than one with track or race hours. As for "stealing" one, sure those great-deal opportunities do present themselves occasionally, but I wouldn't necessarily let that dictate my purchase decision. A "fair" deal for the right car is good enough, IMO. And a lot of race cars often come with spare parts, engines, tires/wheels, etc., so you might be able to negotiate a great deal on the combined car + spares package. As the old saying goes...pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. But, ya never know and patience usually pays off. Good luck!

One more thing all,

I've assembled 19 of the 50 2014's on a spreadsheet. Mostly color, last publicly advertised FS price and whether it was offered at a dealer or Auction.

Cars- 2, 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22, 31, 33, 34, 35, 39, 42 and 43.
I have something on.

Please share whatever details your comfortable with.

2014 colors so far:
white- 9
Black- 7
Blue- 2
Yellow- 1
19

One simple question he has to realize is with only 50 built per year ( plus some have been totaled on the track ), how many are even available? Sometimes reality is the best anecdote for answering your true chances of finding something, and at a price one thinks is in their ballpark? There just aren't a lot of these beasts out there, so his best chance of finding one in his price point, would be to open his options on year, color, and condition - imho.

Selling my 2012 BOSS302S013. Bought it for my Dad in 2018 but his health isn’t good enough for him to use it.

Car is pretty clean.

Low miles(1,000) and low hours (30).

Extra set of bbs wheels comes with it.

$49,900
