First time oil change on my replacement 5.2L engine. From what I can tell, it hasn't burned any oil in 1000 miles. Some oil in the passenger separator, but the drivers side is always dry.

The surprise, which I should have thought to look before the oil change, was that they left the new cartridge oil filter assembly on the new engine. I had heard others say Ford swapped over the old spin-on assembly back when replacing engines on early cars. I don't mind the new style filter and it allowed me to see that there was no assembly trash in the oil. It sure seems like the car wants an extra half-quart, maybe the different filter assembly.

I'm hoping to get my (spare) hood painted in a week or two.

I met up with @byronj for my annual visitation rights with his GT350. It looks better than new!

Bought Brey Krause adapter, recaros dual locking no tab slider, Brey Krause brackets and a Momo seat yesterday at Track First in Akron. Going to get it all test fit and then order the Brey Krause harness bar and sabelt harness.

As a follow up to this, the Momo supercup xl was too wide at the shoulder wings to clear the door panel, so I returned it and went for a street oriented Recaro Expert M in black leather and artista cloth. I did mount it with the BK adapter and Recaro slider, but didn’t use the BK mounts. For tall people, this gained me about 4" of extra headroom. Being 6'6", this has allowed me to finally fit well in a car. Looking through the middle of the windshield instead or the top, the rear view mirror isn't blocking 27% of my view to the right, and I don't have to hunch over at traffic lights. It's a revelation.

My wife bought me an AIM Solo 2 and schroth quick fit pros for both sides for Christmas. I'm skipping the harness bar and will pick up a head and neck device also and a fresh Bell helmet.

Nice job with the Aerocatch and hood vent install. Looks great.

If only it was already painted black.

I may leave the center area magnetic grey.

Still some little items, washer jets, stock latch, but this took a while. The aero latches can be a bit finicky to get just right.6b81b8173c89935db43d50ed3c6bfa03.jpg

Nice trade up.
ahhhh....Wish I had know you were trading in...I would have purchased the hood vents and splitter and give you the same color stock vents if you didn't still have them.

I had a bunch of stuff I wish I had removed in retrospect:

Springs (I had stockers)
The splitter
The USB port for car play
The ccg grilles
Wheel spacers
The gt350 exhaust system
Those hood vents
A Mishimoto intake tube and k&n filter

The timing of the deal was an issue as there was another party trying to get a deal done on the car

Spartan has built two race cars in the time it's taken me to get my spare hood painted.

But it's done and I installed it this morning! Decided against anything matte, just same as stock and gloss clear the GT4 vent.

Weather is cold and rainy so I can't take better pictures.1ea17367065928d1c551f3cd581306a0.jpga0f4879068d03003bf2c502282917b36.jpg
