So, first it was the Gen 2 cylinder block. It came out a while ago and brings with it a bunch of upgrades, like more reinforcing and four mounting bosses for knock sensors. Makes you think it might actually be the GT500 block.

I saw today that there are "Gen 2" 5.2 cylinder heads on the FP website. Bigger ports, more room for lift, a long list of upgrades.

All we need now is a kit of "Gen 2" pistons and rods. Anyone up for building a Voodoo from scratch?

I’m build an Aluminator over a Voodoo.

Simply due to the cost of the crank/cams and the limited aftermarket ability of either, I would probably be looking into a cpc.

Is the gen 2 block a 5.2 block or a 5.0?

I only ask because I know ford said the heads will physically fit the 5.0 but the narrower bores shroud the valves so you aren't able to take advantage of them like you can in the larger bore 5.2.

The FPC and cams are actually cheaper than CPC and cams currently even with the recent doubling of the flat plane cams price.
5.2 liters. Speculation is that it's the GT500 block. It's reinforced and equipped with four knock sensor pads.
Probably true as the 5.2 production block has been discontinued with no redirect to a new number.

I guess I was speculating about the 5.0 cpc vs the 5.2 fpc. The FPC is around $900 more than the CPC, but I imagine the GT500 crank will cost a bit more.

Crazy how the FPC is only $1200. Last time I checked I thought it was like $1800.

I was using the Ford Racing 5.2L CPC M-6303-M52 for comparison. FR parts have increased in price substantially since 4/1 as apparently Ford dealers can no longer deal in FR parts (unless they are authorized FR dealers). Hopefully production parts from dealers will be cheaper.

White bear lake is a FR dealer correct?

They have always been awesome to deal with and their FR pricing is killer.

Not anymore. No dealers, just places like summit as of 4/1. Dealers can still order stuff, but through the same process as ford accessories so if nothing else the pricing will increase.
