What an insane weekend.....Good weather for day 1 and 2, then the bottom fell out. SCCA had to shut down due to extreme weather on Friday, which meant a very long day on Saturday. AJ won a wet race on Saturday, and a dry one Sunday, pretty much walking the dog on a lot of expensive cars in GT2. ..or was that GT1.? well he beat a bunch of them as well, as they were running the same group. it was really great discussing strategy with him but sooner or later, you just have to...SEND IT. With the rain, my job was off the hook, because the decision to go wet/dry had to happen at the last minute, you also had a pressure conundrum because of wet track vs swimming pool conditions.

Although, not a mustang, it was pretty cool to watch Kurt drag out a 1994 vintage Firebird, last run in (I think) the old Koni series..and tear up a bunch of expensive imports...lolol "Merica! finishing 2nd both days.

T3 is a really cool class, not very expensive and is one that I would highly recommend if you want to race on a budget, this is the latest build, based on Marshall's Runoffs winner 3 valve car. Unfortunately, the driver was unable to race the car do to some scheduling conflicts, but he did practice it, and you could tell he was having a ball. The T3 cars also behave extremely well from my perspective, never throwing the tire guy some bizzaro curve..relatively inexpensive, easy to tune, limited mods..good stuff.

Lastly, and I hesitated to post this, (as I think taking pics of wrecked cars is a bit morbid),but I think it will be OK, is that one of the corvettes was seriously damaged, the driver emerged unhurt after the car got upside down on the tire wall, his only injury happening after the wreck while getting out of the car. .. I point this out, because you should note the quality of work that went into the vehicle, there's not a lot of room in a Corvette, and the hit was around 130 mph..good construction, good seats and belts, the Hans device, quality safety equipment, and a well thought out and engineered car resulted in a good outcome for the driver...it did save his life.

It was definitely a challenging weekend..
Fortunately, Phoenix had a paved pit area.

You can post photos of crashed cars as long as your associated with them so you’re fine. I’m glad the driver was ok that looks pretty nasty.

I was at the GP of LB yesterday and the support race was the Pirelli GT4. No doubt the Mustangs sounded the best by far. And fortunately the weather was perfect.

Are you guys running Trackspec louvers instead of the usual Tiger Racing hoods now? Curious about the feedback there.

Yes, but also moved alot of stuff under the hood. The amount of area for air to escape is about the same, but different placement. No back to back testing other than the car felt roughly the same with both setups. Would need a windtunnel to properly test it. Plus the Tiger hood is too damn hard to see over on certain tracks.

I hate to see a good racecar get torn up but hate seeing a driver get hurt even more, I'm glad that the car did it's job in this incident. On a side note I've heard some stories from people at hyperfest without paved pit areas having a hard time getting in and out and that pic really makes me believe them. It's also good to see the phoenix boss kicking still and I'm always left wanting to see more from it

You guys should check out C2 Customs out of Raleigh. I actually purchased Track spec vents specific for the S197, but I like the center vent better (one large vent). I found this guy and sent the track spec vents back. This is also less cost prohibitive! Worth a look, Adam is a good dude!

I'll be installing two more on each side of this center vent (he has a few smaller vents).

Just my .02.
