Did you do any daily driving on them? I'm curious as to how fast they wear when you include street miles.

Not a daily thing, but I did put plenty of street miles on them over the past two years. Summary of approximate use is about like this:
14 AutoX days
4 HPDE days
2000 street miles

I run a little over 2 degrees of negative camber on the front (solid axle in the rear because... S197), and I found that the tires wore very evenly as long as they were rotated. The accelerated inside wear during street driving was offset by the outer wear seen from parking lot racing and track use. If I were only driving on the street, I think I could get 8,000 - 10,000 miles out of them with minimal camber.

Driving in the rain is not a good idea. When new, RE-71s will get you where you want to go if you're careful. At 4/32 of tread depth, standing water is an accident waiting to happen. That said, I am putting on another set since my Excursion doesn't care how hard it rains.

I took a look at the Advantage A052 specs on TireRack and their widths run phenomally wide. Hell, even their 265/40-18 has a 10" tread width, and that's just on a 9.5" wide wheel! And their 295/35-18 has a 11.2" tread width on just a 10.5" wide wheel. I would imagine that putting them on 0.5" wider wheels would increase those widths by at least another 0.2".

Very interesting. I wonder why TireRack didn't measure them on a wider wheel in the first place.

I ordered the 295/35/18 set (old 6/32" offerings). Good price on Tirerack. $250 each with a $100 rebate from Yokohama if you order a set of four in June

Hopefully 295s are okay on 18x12s.

If you're in an endurance race or DE4, you need RS-4. I've run the RE71R and its fast, but it's not going to last. My re71r lasted about 18 autocrosses and 9 hpde sessions. my rs4 in comparison have 6 track days, 3 autocrosses, and still have 7/32nd on the center rib.

If you cant get rs4, the fallen is okay. The RS4 can be overdriven with free consequences than the Falken.

Re71r are more pressure sensitive. Get 2 psi over ideal because ambient and track temps are going up, and they'll stay fast, but you'll find that rope you're tight walking on getting narrow quick as pressures go up.

FWIW, I'm one second faster at VIR on RS4 because i can run a 35 instead of 30 profile and carry more straightaway speed.

The rival is better for track and better to some on a heavy car in a hot climate. Ultimately it's not a hankook or falken in durability

Do you mean "fewer" consequences? Do they give you more warning or are they just easier to recover?
Yes to fewer on the Falken. F'ing autocorrect.

The Falken is strange about overdriving. If the outer tread gets overheated, it can lose grip obviously, but its like you have to wear that burned layer off to get good tire again. Ask the lemons guys about it. They're also just not as grippy or durable as RS4.
