Hmmm... I saw from other threads that you can/should use the gen1 head gasket on the gen2 block... But the part numbers for the 2012/2013 Boss gaskets are CR3Z-6051 and CR3Z-6049-D (not in stock) while the stock Gen1 gaskets are DR3Z-6051-E and DR3Z-6051-C

Any important changes??? Or the 2014 ones would be fine??

Lol!! You just have to keep looking forward.... Will have a quicker, lighter, faster car.... Always look on the bright side of life!!! Mind you if I had a crystal ball..... I would not have bought the rear wing.....

Maybe something like this might help......

Dear, you go on vacation... some one has to take care of the dogs...... (maybe we can share food)

I know, a Wacky, and extremely unlikely goal... is to leave a pair of GT3 Porsches in the dust on the 17th of August!! the leaving behind part is ok... its the short amount of time that has me worried!!!!

Lofty goal indeed. I have been working on the current motor build since April of 2018. It’s still not yet machined, probably not for a while.

Good luck hitting that goal, just keep pushing :)

Since it was a broken rod that made some new windows into my block, still feeling confident in my builder... Actually the bearings for that dam rod, were in great shape LoL... Maybe should have magnafluxed the rods when I had them out last time..... If I have all the parts here it takes him about a week to build the engine...(de burring the block and all that) Lucky he lives in his shop so he works at all hours of the night.... (and he gives me a fixed price per over all job).

Well heads turned out to be ok, the Shop found that the impacted head was very slightly out of wack, so they left both at 0.06mm.... I freaked out at first since they only told me that the heads were shaved 0.06..... And I thought inches.... was worried all weekend.

Glad I got those 11:1 psitons instead of going higher, though I dont know how much difference 0.06mm will make to the compression. Guess we have to machine the timing cover the 0.06mm as well.

All my parts have arrived... (well almost... they forgot the rod bearings but they are being shipped out asap). Was going over the parts and making a build plan... the Wiseco wrist pins came with C clips and my builder is very adamant about using Spirolock clips instead. Is it worth the extra time to get some spirolock clips? Like the look of the Wiseco pistons with the oiling holes.

The rotating assembly came all balanced from Modular Head Shop, but the Crankshaft has the oil holes in need of cleaning up and deburring.... I guess will send it to be balanced after just in case...

I don't believe spirolocks are interchangeable with c clips. This from J&E:

"Pins Designed For Lock Types

Although the three different types of wrist-pin locks are not meant to be interchangeable, the retention grooves machined for Spirolocks and snap rings are similar. Tru Arcs, or snap rings, and Spirolocks must also be used with wrist pins that have flat edges.

“The grooves are different shapes and dimensions, however Tru Arcs can be used interchangeably with Spirolocks of the same thickness,” says Stevenson.

Circlips, however, must be used with chamfered wrist pins. The retention grooves on the pin bosses must be designed with a small relief machined on the edge of the groove. Sometimes this relief or notch is used to help facilitate removal. Or it can be used to properly position a certain design of wire clip."

True, I just heard back from Wiseco. Have to use the c-lips as the pistons are machined for them and not the Spirolocks.... Well that means one less item to change!!!
