Okay now that we have all agreed Charlize is way hotter than some bald guy whose mom named him after the abbreviation for a Vehicle Identification Number, how is the CrazyHelmet's motor doing?

back in the day, these guys picked up a junk yard chevy 350, they put a nitrous cam in it and just kept giving it a bigger shot until it blew itself up. They got over 500 hp with it, and what finally killed it , is that they didn't purge the tank during a refill and it went over rich, or it might still be around. With all the computer controls available to a tuner these days, I don't see why running N2O would pose any particular problem. Back in the 70s when we were building kits out of plumbing fittings and whatever else we could scrounge together, I lifted a Pontiac 389 intake off an engine ( in the loudest explosion heard by mankind) when the N20 puddled, but those days are long over, anything under about a 100 shot, with the proper tuning support, should pose little problem.
Should I even bring up mercury bars?

I would be more worried about an NOS backfire blowing apart the manifold. Having said that, the Boss intake that Matt has is less prone to fuel puddling that could cause it. I guess a 50-shot would also lessen the chance of that happening.

Just means you need to carry a spare or two. :D

But I’ve never been a nitrous guy. Had lots of drag racing friends with it, but I would never, ever, ever consider it for road course use.

There’s a lot that changes as your bottle empties. Not stuff you want...even on a properly tuned, plumbed, and wired car. The list of issues is too long to bother with typing on my damn phone.

Just got the Rod bearings in today (shop forgot to send them...) So now its off to be balanced again with the new dampner and clutch. That means next week we should be building the engine. Next race is Sept 28, Would really like to win that. No chance for the Championship but would like to show them who's Bosso_O (Got to beat that dam GT3). Next trace will be with my wang!

The reason for the NOS question is that the next category up is with cars that are 4 seconds faster then my old best time. Driver mods are always a must but I don't see where too scrounge four seconds from. Would only think about it at a very modest level and only manually controlled on the long straight we have. Have to talk to Shaun at AED and see what he thinks. He seems very adverse to things blowing up!!

Though about adding a CJ manifold setup but that might give me 15hp more.... What are the risks of NOS in a accidente???

Was that a street car??

technically, yes it had 2 seats but only for the rules.

OK, I will take the bait, whats the story on mercury bars?

first off, don't do this, it's bad for the environment, yourself and anything else it comes in contact with, sort of like hydrazine, but that didn't really stop anyone either.

"1 gallon of water weighs about 8.35 pounds. 1 gallon of petrol weighs about 6.073 pounds. 1 gallon of diesel weighs about 7.01 pounds. 1 gallon of milk weighs about 8.26 pounds. 1 gallon of mercury weighs about 113 pounds. "

This mostly applies to circle track cars that have to have a specific left side percentage, as well as front to rear. since mercury weighs a lot, and is liquid at most normal temperatures you can seal it up in a frame tube ( a very robust frame tube) and place it in the car as just another chassis piece. The advantage is that as you accelerate the mercury runs to the back of the car helping plant the rear tires, providing forward bite, during braking it does the opposite, increasing braking and improving turn in. It also opens up a complete new set of parameters for chassis tuning. I know of 2 of these cars, I've seen one (supposedly) because you can't tell if the bars contain mercury or not. This is one reason why many tracks require 1/4 inch holes drilled in chassis tubing, to inspect the thickness and make sure there's no additional parts floating around in there.
It's actually a brilliant concept.

I think he means he is getting something from Nine Lives Racing...
Yes!! No way I would not hang a Chinese guy called Wang out to hang..... or expose myself either. The Wang (the Nine lives wing...) looks great and will be installed for the next race.
