We may have a picture of it hanging up in the office.......love your build thread , but one thing you failed to mention was how " Friggin" great looking the car is!!! Damn, I love white anyway, but the shot with the brake lights on and the rotors steaming is classic!
That is " Poster " or " Screenshot" worthy!!
PS - welcome to TMO
Our TiAL turbo is holding up extremely well without any issues in 5+ years of running. We had it insulated well, and actually upgraded the turbo wrap in the off season and will be curious to see how much more efficient it makes it spin.Jesus christ...hows the turbo holding up with heat during races?
i would def buy a print of this picture for my wall....really awesome
crazy car, do you have onboard vidéo ?
It's a Quaife QBE69G transmission. It's been a very reliable piece that was able to withstand anywhere from 6-900whpWhat's the gearbox? Hollinger from the GT4 or something stouter? Incredible build!
Unfortunately, I don't think there's much left to do to the car, other than going full CFD and wind tunnel testing and minor adjustments. Race ready (no driver or fuel) the car weighs 3000#. We've taken just about as much weight out of the car as we can without going full tube frame. We have all the power we can need. At the 2019 Nationals, I was racing against Elan race cars and other similar ones that only weigh 1-1200#. So really I think it's just keep fine tuning it and seeing what else we can develop in the suspension and aerodynamicsSo the question is, what's the next target/goal for the car?
I was wondering more in terms of plans to compete in the same class/series - is another championship a realistic target? Or do you envision a bigger challenge from the Elan race cars this season? (or whenever racing starts up again).Unfortunately, I don't think there's much left to do to the car, other than going full CFD and wind tunnel testing and minor adjustments. With a 22 gallon fuel cell, 100# turbo/accessories, and me, the car weighs 3300. We've taken just about as much weight out of the car as we can without going full tube frame. The plan is to continue to run in SU/TTU with NASA. As far as another championship in those classes, it's going to be tough. One lap pace, it's hard to keep up with those cars, but I feel having a bigger car is easier to run through traffic as well as I feel my race pace my strong suit. So we shall just see what happensI was wondering more in terms of plans to compete in the same class/series - is another championship a realistic target?
