Neighbour fills mustang owners exhaust with expanding foam.

I don't know if this is already out there but I was kind of shocked to see this. The guys neighbour filled his exhaust with expanding foam due to a noise dispute over exhaust. These cars can be loud on cold start but it's only like 20 seconds and then it's pretty quiet. I talked to my neighbours about my exhaust and they all don't mind as it's a short burst and I'm a very quiet neighbour the rest of the time so it's give and take. What do you guys think.

My Neighbors think my stock M3 is loud... I tell them just be happy I only start up the GT350 as needed. A couple of them I offered to walk and give ear plugs before I start anything up. They have come to realize I am her to stay but willing to help keep it quite.

Yeah it just sucks to be a car guy in a non car community sometimes. I'm not sure if the guy was being obnoxious but still you never vandalize property.

OHHHH SHOOT, I misread, that is so not cool. That neighbor needs to be stabbed with a butter knife. Vandalism in any form is not cool at all. Id call the authorities on that one and put out video surveillance as a CYA.

Some, well, a lot of people would put loud obnoxious vehicles on the same level as any petty crime. We all gotta get along folks, I try to not P/O the neighbours with my car, and I expect they won't P/O me with loud boozy all night parties or acres of screaming grandkids in my backyard. It works pretty good in general. Personally, I've always thought guys who eschewed mufflers on the street were making a statement about their self image. And not a good statement. Full disclosure, I still have the stock exhaust except for an H pipe resonator delete. ;)

My neighbors all want to come over and see what I am starting up, whether the Viper or the Boss S, and it sure helps the neighbor three houses down has a cammed up Harley. Heck , the neighborhood association even consulted us about the speed bumps because we have some pretty low sports cars on our street. Guy on the Neighborhood Association has a C7 and he was concerned about all of us with fun machines , so our speed bumps are really long, but quite low.

Did the guy have to pay restitution for the vandalism?

I'm not sure if the neighbour had to pay as I don't think he can prove it was him. He probably just knows who it is from previous encounters.

I always feel bad starting my car up in the morning at 6:45am the two days per week I go into the office. I try and back out of the garage quickly and roll down the court. The neighbors all commented on my loud car during a gathering we had years ago, but they were all good-natured about it. Our neighbors across the street are selling so I'm hoping the new owners aren't going to be too bothered by it. 😬

I filled and flushed my radiator at like 8:30pm last night and had to run it for a bit to circulate the fluids and work the air out, and felt so shitty for the loud idle, but no way in hell I'm going to kill myself and the dogs doing it with the garage door down, plus, it'd be even louder. I'd like to think my neighbors accept and respect how hard I try to keep things down, but to get something like that means they're probably on the other side of the spectrum, doing Youtube or live streams of your exhaust note at 2am.

Just fire it up with the door closed and then after that initial loud bark, open it up.

My next door neighbor told me one time that he thinks of me every morning I leave for work. This is the same neighbor who always has alcohol on his breath, has booming music at 10 pm on school nights and sleeps past 9 am every day. I just let him talk.

I do however crank my car, it runs for 2 or 3 minutes and I nearly idle through the gears as I leave. I truly don't want to tick off my neighbors.

Now fate would have it, my other neighbor across the street has a teenage son that has a friend that just discovered 2v newedge mustangs and slp loud mouths.
He visits almost everyday. Then the same neighbor that thinks of me every morning told him his car sounds like, you know what. I haven't heard that from anyone in the 4 years I have had my car. So that's a win.

It doesn't help that kid thinks the whole world wants to hear his white trash Ferrari and blasts through the neighborhood with his whopping 260hp in first gear, accelerating and letting off the gas to back fire and sound terrible.. lol That same kid comes over periodically to talk, cause mustang life, and I try to teach him the ways and respecting others so he doesn't ruin it for the rest of us, but no dice yet.
