Supercharger belt upgrade

Hey there. I was hoping someone out there has some experience/knowledge they might share about belt upgrades for superchargers. In my case I have a Whipple 2.3l “550hp” 91 octane tune on a 2006 3V. Since I‘be been taking my car to the track I’ve had some belt failures and need to fix this dangerous problem if I want to drive the car as hard as I like. Through my limited knowledge and resources I’ve found that Whipple and Steeda sell kits that make the standard 6 rib belt back into an accessory belt and add a primary 10 rib belt for the supercharger. Making an uninformed decision I would choose the kit made by Whipple. Right? They make the supercharger and the new snout for the Steeda kit. Anybody have any experience? Thanks

I don't have a Whipple, but I can share my belt knowledge of the Keene Bell 2.6 going on my car. An overdrive crank pulley and a larger SC pulley will help. Going to an 8 rib belt will help. Adding a Mother Thumper tensioner will help. Doing all of the above works.

If your issue is alignment, and not belt slippage, that's another discussion.

I haven’t completely overlooked possible alignment issues but can always be more informed. Nothing jumps out at me and my home garage skill set. I cant see anything bent, off axis or wobbling. No chirps or odd noise. Can’t feel any abnormalities in the pulleys or belt.
It’s not my daily driver and never had any problems in my occasional fun outings on the street prior to going to the track. The belts have only failed on the track and I chalked it up as that’s the way it goes when you start taxing the car-the weak points are going to appear. I originally had a Gates-K061247(quite sure RPM) and had to replace it with a green belt from Napa- K061251HD. I know the numbers refer to the length and the Napa belt was the only one available at the time and I questioned it further because the packaging indicated it was a Napa belt and not a Gates. Both belts broke after 3-4 open track days at Willow Springs 2.5mi with some street miles in between. I figured that track might be harder on my car than some other places because of all the WOT and near WOT that it allows.
