How to mount a wing?

At some point I want to trade out my spoiler for a wing. I'll likely go with one of the 9Lives big wangs.

How are these mounted? I know there is such a thing as a chassis mount wing but these kits seem to just be bolted to the trunk lid? Is that ok?

It seems like it should be tied into the frame or bumper support somehow to keep from ripping through my fiberglass trunk lid.

Anybody have mounting pictures?

I recommend bracing the trunk lid. I copied the GT350s bracing

Plan B is to come up from the trunk floor with a pedestal, at the top of the pedestal is a flat plate that supports the trunk lid, the wang sits on the trunk lid and is supported by the flat plate. A lot of the TCR, type cars use this method, or at least used to. don't kid your self, a wind puts a lot of stress on the sheetmetal.
Plan C is to come from under the car and basically bypass all the body work, that is what some GT1 car use, but it takes a lot of custom machining/water jetting to build a substantial (read heavy) enough bracket to make that work..
Plan D is to just slot the trunk lid and support the wing from the trunk floor

Only thing to be aware of are rules that govern where you can have the wing in relationship to the rear of the car, overhang allowed or not. I believe some don't allow the reinforcement from below to the chassis either. However, as a firm believer in "I'm in it for the fun" last thing I look at is the rule book for mods allowed in my class, I'm just here to see what I can do and that's it.

that's a great way to install it..rules permitting. Most won't let you go past any rear bodywork with the wing itself. brackets are up to some negotiating

The original plan for the junkyard dog build was to have an automatic transmission and an articulating wing based off the brake with a servo

Very cool idea.
I was about to send your idea to my mechanic...... But that risks never seeing my car on the track again...

The only issue I see with that is if you have oil reservoirs or coolers in the trunk, that might make them hard to get to. but..it's simple, it's light, it works so
