Yup. slowly going Madder and Madder!!

We closed our office in Mid March!!! Then the city started closing right down in April.... here we are in June and no end in sight.... Here in Chile we jumped up to 177 deaths per million and looks like we have a long way to go. You guys are at 360 and the UK is at 621. I guess the US will get to the UK's number as well.... Its a sad state of affaires.

Am very baised... but I really do like Chilean Cabs better then anything from California... (I know, fighting words!!). Hate the sulpher taste... (ready for hate mail).

Wife has been stocking up the wine racks... And since every day is a weekend, have been feeding well. Not too much else to do! Going to get fat... getting really close to 200lbs, Though some of it is from hitting the home gym... Finally can't say I have no time for a work out.

Heh, I have found some very good Chilean Cabs, so those are not fighting words to me, but then I am in Nebraska and Chile , California, Oregon, and Washington Cabernets are better than the few we have here ...............

Sorry to hear you have been stuck at home that long , as it definitely puts a strain on ye olde pocketbook and sounds like the virus is spreading in Chile even with the lockdown - that has to be a bit scary!?

Be careful JDee, you may entice a bunch of folks down here in the US of A to mosey on up to Moose Country with those kind of benefits. Don't add that Molson is cheaper in the Provinces as that could guarantee a landslide of life forms crossing the border for the sit on your butt life of Canada, ha!!

...Was wondering.... Now that the engine has two setrab oil filters (915, and 934) and oil piston jets... Should I think about changing from Mobil 5W50 to something lighter??? ...
Don't bother. Most people look at the different viscosities and think "this one's thicker than that one" but in the engine, that's not what matters. The way to think about it is to look at the temperatures where the viscosities are the same. For instance, a 0w40 and a 5w30 have the same viscosity when the 0w40 is about 7 or 8 degrees C warmer than the 5w30. 5w50 is a few more degrees warmer than that, say somewhere between 10 and 20 degrees C. If your street engine is running 5w30 and the EOT is usually around 100C, then a 5w50 at 120C is about the same viscosity.

If you (get bored and) want to compare viscosities of different oils at different temperatures, go here: https://www.widman.biz/English/Calculators/Graph.html. The site owner is in Bolivia so it's fully compatible with southern hemisphere browsers.

Well... it goes on and on, but the end is in site!! Mechanic did a compressed air test on the valves and about 8 made bubbles in the gasoline filled runners... So he re-seated the all the valves till they had no more bubbles......which takes time:(, So...Now they got the FINAL Head CFM numbers and are building the motor over the weekend. Hope to have the engine in the car by the end of the week.

This is what a comparison chart looks like. maybe getting 480 rwhp is looking more plausible!

Can barely contain myself till we get the car on the road...and on a Dyno. The idea is to have the car running and log a tune for Shaun at AED before the 19th of this month. Tall order, but worth the extra effort!

Probably no point in doing it since the compression is the same as before... But since we went to the larger Gen 2 valves, we checked the valve clearance and had plenty of space still. I think some one will want their plasticine back!

Wishing you a Sunday to remember!!!

The garage has finally cleared quarentine!! But week ends are only for one 3 hour supply run. You have to apply for a pass by internet and the cops, with support from the army, are out with check points every where. So I get to see the work go on by videos and pics... At least they got the infection rate down dramaticaly. We were at 40% test positivity, now we are at 7.5%

Really hoping to hear the engine bark on Tuesday. Though that might be optimistic!

Wearing a mask is not a option down here! To all us older gentlemen...Keep safe!!

My luck has not improved much!! Almost tall the city is coming out of lockdown... except where my car is in the shop!! But clandestine work has gone on and the engine is sitting under the car ready to be put in today.

Header collector looks great!

As a aside... the X pipe got the same treatment and I was impressed when the builder sent a jet of compressed air down one entrance of the xpipe and a cleenex he rested over the other entrance was sucked down and fired out the the end... Once the engine is in, the 3 inch custom exhaust gets fitted. Will run it for a few hours with run in oil and then in goes to Mobil 1 5w50. Not sure how soon I should log the car with the AED provisional tune.
