You want some 2018 Oxford White Fenders?
There's a slight chance they might fall off, but otherwise alright.

Your not done yet! Sucks but part of the sport. My car number was 88 because when upside-down it still reads 88. Then too many liked the chinese lucky number so now my number is 116. Upside-down call 911.

Camaro is better platform and so is their 10r80 programing. If you like autos vs dct check out autobox in new supra. It is like last generation bmw dct again without all the breakdowns. Although you have had terrible luck with your a10. I'm doing well with mine but it is the 2nd model year. Try seeing out the camaro. I cannot so bought mustang. It makes battling easier when you can see. But for TT maybe not need to see especially if you are FTD guy.

Whats so much better on the Camaro?

I mean besides the huge torque and better cooling..
Is the chassis itself that much better!

The chassis is better.
Lighter. More lower torque. Engine Easy to mod. Cost. U can get a ss 1le for 40k. Ss 1le with 3R is faster than gt350 :)
Although the ss is really ugly. The only one i would buy is tge zl1 1le

This is what's so hard to 'grasp'..

If you look at the lap time thread on both here and camaro6, the Mustang is consistently faster (for similar mods)

It will be interesting to see the Vorshlag S550 LS Mustang to see if it is really the chassis, or if it's just the packaging and the lack of torque of the Coyote?

One thing is for sure....the Mustang is much cheaper to start with so thats a huge attraction.

From Chevalay's (note Bobby Unser pronunciation there :) ) website for 2020:

3754 / 1703 – 1SS 1LE (lbs/kgs)

2020 Mustang GT is showing as 3705 lbs in Ford's literature, but you could add close to 100 lbs for the PP1 stuff I would guess.
So Camaro is maybe 60 lbs lighter than a PP1? Not all that much difference in weight.

For me the place where the 1LE really wins is the driveline coolers! The car is going to live longer and not break shiznit as often and ultimately should be cheaper to run. Everything else is either even or a Ford win IMHO.

Is the question "which one is faster" even relevant when most of us are not even going to get a trophy for our efforts? Isn't it supposed to be about having fun? In which case Camaro might win that one unless you happen to like fixing busted car stuff.

Vorshlag's chev powered 'stang is not going to be a good comparison to anything coming off a showroom floor, it is being hand built as a race car and is already extremely light. Plus they have set the engine way back and much lower and because it's so much smaller the weight is better placed being closer to the centerline of the car. No question it's good to be a superior handling piece to the same car with a Coyote in it, and no question its going to be faster, that much was apparent as soon as I saw the picture of that engine placed in the engine bay beside the same car with a Coyote.

A car is a tool. Sometimes we pick the wrong tool for the job and things don't work out well, making us angry with the tool. But it's not really a tool problem, it's a people problem. As are most things in our world these days....

maybe that's whats wrong with me...

Every time I get a 'sports' car, it ends up being gutted with a huge wing and I'm looking to collect trophies

The difference is what's swinging from the rafters IMHO.
The Mustang has two big fellas and the Camaro nothing.
Use your imagination... ;)

The proper coolers will add even more weight to the stang. I'm a chevy guy just finished racing a '04 Z06 vette and now racing '19 GT A10. The Z06 is a 1997 chassis from a development stand point and the stang a 2015. Yet the Chevy is way better engineered and is 18 years older development! I bought the stang to race it in A10 trim. I did not think the compromises were that bad but if I got to do it again I would stick to chevy. I would have raced the 'maro A1 but I could not see out of it. There is just endless stupidness with Ford. Take this for example using a 10.9 bolt to hold up an exhaust hanger with a sheet metal bolt plate! LOL! Classic stupid.20201025_150059.jpg

Because using a hardened bolt around other harden bolts is stupid? Makes you wonder if anyone used the softer bolts in suspension and died. Now that’s smart. Kind of reminds me of the twos springs in the M-60 bolt. They looked alike, one was capable of handling heat. Of course, one was cheaper. So, they used both. Clean the gun and the springs looked identical. Fire it and you had a 50-50 chance of failure when the springs got hot.
Yep, stupid as hell. Saving a few cents is not always the smart way to go. Keep hardened bolts around suspension, not a bad idea.

how did you like the 04Z?

I have one (actually 2) that is caged but not finished yet. Im probably gonna sell that project off because I dont have time to finish it and need something thats turn key and ideally 4 seats.

Its interesting to hear everyones comments.

you go over to the chevy guys and they say the same thing about their car and that Ford is better.

From what I have been able to gather so far is that

LT is a far superior engine compared to Coyote
Camaro is much better engineered out of the box
mustang can be had for MUCH cheaper
Chevy engine is considerably cheaper to mod (cams intake etc)
Mustang seems to have slightly better aftermarket support (K members, even sla if you want to get crazy)

What Im trying to sift through is all of the subjective information
It seems that most people whao have tracked their Mustangs will say that Camaros are much faster.
However talking to Camaro owners and looking at laptimes from the Camaro database - it seems the Mustang is actually slightly faster! WTF???

this is what Im having difficulty with understanding.
