Hey Names Alex,
I have been building Japanese and Euro cars for about 15 years and decided to buy a 2020 Mustang GT PP1 6MT (Which I now realize I should have got a Shelby!)
Anyways I'm building the thing from the ground up but boy howdy do I got A LOT to learn. So I hope everyone doesn't mind helping a American V8 newbie!

I set a track time with in a CW Streets of Willow of 1:31 with bald rear tires (I had too much fun with doing burnouts)

I have a Rally, Drifting, Time Attack background I hope to try to set a good lap time soon with it!

Hello fellow SoCal resident!
Nothing wrong with a non-Shelby if you make the right modifications, plus, it must totally piss them off when they realize you've spent half of what they did. There are a few of us in the area active here, and even more at the track, so hope to bump into you one of these days.

Well I don't wanna spoil it but I already purchased ohlins road and track coils, Hre Rims and a Helion sleeper kit.....sooo my end goal is 1000rwhp so I figured why get a shelby when I have to spend the same money to get 1000hp but than I found out after the fact about the whole MT82 thingy and the brakes being hugely different............

That'll be a bunch of fun, can't wait to see it out and about. Their TR-3160 won't handle the power any better than the MT-82D4 anyhow, and the 6 piston aren't that much worse, especially when you take the recurring brake and rotor costs into it too. Also leaves the ability to run much cheaper 18" race slicks.

Hi VMO members,
My name is Will, and I am a total newbie to driving on the track. I was never a "car guy". Somewhat embarrasingly got the bug by watching Ford v. Ferrari at the theater last November--it shook me to my bones. Went out and bought a GT350 straight away and have taken it to the track several times. It has been a rush like no other. Looking forward to more.

My name is John and I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan. My brother and I are going in on a ’12 or ‘13 Boss. He now lives in Louisiana so he’ll get to play in the winters!

As many of you know we have 2 wonderful tracks in Michigan, Waterford Hills and Gingerman, so I’ll be out there learning how to actually drive in 2021. Funny enough my wife had the chance to drive a couple of Boss 302’s and loved ‘em, our 12 year old boy seems to be into it too - ergo 302FAM for our TMO handle.

Anyway, I used to fly aircraft and had my fair share of 60’s muscle cars but never felt the kind of exhilaration you get from a modern Boss. I don‘t have much track experience yet but connected with instructors at our tracks out here which has been super helpful. Now I just gotta get thru the next 6 months before OTD’s are up and running again here in the North. I’ll add photos of our car and specs once we actually have one!

Welcome to the club!!...Glad to see your family is all on the same page here, especially your son.I taught my Son to drive a stick with my "04 Mustang GT. and now He takes out the Boss once in a while.......Funny thing tho, the avg miles per gal reading on the dash is always lower than when it left......HMMMM........... You may not want to turn your Boss over to your Brother when it gets colder, but instead be looking into snow tires......:D...is there a buyout clause in your endeavor??

Lol - yeah, we hired a Philadelphia lawyer to figure out an agreement and a buyout clause! In all seriousness, we did talk about some particulars as things like this could get messy, especially in families. We'll let you all know how this little experiment works - at least you can't divorce your brother so we got that goin' for us 🙏

Speaking of the kids, we might need a 3rd key that actually is a "restrictor" (opposite of the red track key) for them. We'll have to find a big parking lot to teach them on a 444 horse roadrunner, but after that we might have to find a Miata until they can handle it!

Teach stick to the kids on a low HP car! I learned on a VW and a "69 Toyota Corolla..back in the day....The Corolla had less CC's than a big Harley!!!..Once they learn the basics,.... that can be applied to more meaner machines...All tho you may regret that down the road................................driving stick is becoming a dying art, sad to say............

Hi All -
My name is Nick, I am new to the forum and happy to find a group dedicated to tracking Mustangs. I live in Atlanta, GA and I have a ‘17 GT with the Performance Package. My Mustang is lowered with Steeda progressive springs and Eibach wheel spacers, otherwise it’s in stock form. I participate in HPDE events with Just Track It and Chin Track Days at Road Atlanta, also looking forward to visiting other tracks in the Southeast. In addition, I’m a member of the Mustang Club of America and enjoy car shows with my 5 year old daughter. Looking forward to meeting you all. My next track event is 12/4 at Road Atlanta with Just Track It.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum Nick. Great group of people here with a ton of knowledge and experience. I hope to make my way down to Road Atlanta with my pony some day, that track and my home track Mosport have virtually identical lap times and are the fastest tracks in North America.
