Good luck Comp Orange and I am envious you have a short drive North to Lexington ( Mid Ohio ). Please get your spare bedroom ready for all the TMO members who want to come and hang with you , er, race with you and stay at the CompOrange Motel, haha.

Seriously, look forward to seeing some shots of you screaming through Thunder Valley or nailing the calipers at the end of the straight prior to China Beach.

Yeah, I'm at exactly 1 hour house to Mid Ohio parking lot. Because of that, I've only done it and Nelson Ledges, but hope 2021 to bring 2-3 new tracks. I have some decent experience there in my S550 cars, laptimes in the laptimes thread.

Thanks, it'll be an adjustment having a cage and hans this coming year I'm sure (firsts for both) but I had a bad on track accident a couple years ago and am not playing around with safety anymore!

Shoot me a note if the group ever heads to Mid Ohio! A bunch of Mustang people are doing Nelson in May with Auto Interests.

Absolutely will! I'll be doing full cage with Nascar bars on both sides with gutted doors, along with A pillar gussets and rear shock reinforcements.
Shop around, lots of questionable workmanship out there.

Looks like a 127600. What's different that makes it a special grind? If you don't mind me asking.

You nailed it. Literally nothing different apparently. Only that livernois gets their cams from comp cams (their words). Apparently a lot of smaller shops that sell cams do. I talked to comp cams today and they pulled them up via serial number. Lol.

Definitely post pics, especially of any cage or fab work. I just love that stuff.

Yes, please do

If the gentleman who is doing your cage runs in American Iron and builds cars for others , he might be also one of your best bets to also question about other rules on what should be done on your car. Since he runs A1 he is well aware of the legal specs on a roll cage and that is critical since so many have had someone build a cage for what they deem is a great price only to find it is not legal in NASA or SCCA, etc. Check with him on various upgrades and mods, because if you build your Mustang as just an HPDE machine , but it could also meet all the rules for a Time Trial or Race Class , it makes it much more desirable to sell in the future if you decide to move up or try another machine.

Best of luck. You do have easy access holes in the frame ( for manufacturer shipping capability ) to strap/tie down the car , so that is your easiest solution.

It’s been a while here. For 2022 I did mid Ohio a few times, Pitt and tried a new track Putnam Park (loved it)!

1:20.8 at Putnam on 2017 date code 615+ tires.

Yesterday mid Ohio pro course on Michelin slicks got a personal best 1:38.3.

Car is lovely minus the lack of power, runs amazing. Only issue is a coolant smell/usage issue but I’ve replaced everything but the radiator. I’ll keep throwing parts at it until I figure it out.
