My biggest challenge is how to totally flush out the Orange Coolant and fill it with the new Yellow coolant.
Just in case coolant compatibility was your sticking point here, the Yellow coolant is backwards compatible with the Orange coolant and they can be mixed together. I've attached the document from Motorcraft going over it.

Thanks! I didn't even think about a shop-vac. Do you recommend teflon tape or hi-temp thread sealant when reinstalling it?
I use a paste sealant called Seal-Lock, it acts as a sealant and threadlock so things don't vibrate loose. Works very well.

I plan to install a sending unit for a water temp gauge once I get around to pulling the plug on the left side - just a thought if you’re considering stand alone gauges.

Hmm. I'll consider it but I'll have to figure out where I'll put the gauge. I already have an oil temp gauge in a Roush vent pod so I'd have to rig something up. Maybe I can install a sending unit and see if I can set it up to just be datalogged in addition to the CHT derived coolant temps in the OBDII data.

Would not the oil temp be a better realtime indicator of overheating, with datalogging coolant temp sufficient for additional info?

I'm in the process of installing my pump now and wondering if/how you installed a temp gage?

Or you could just weld a bung in the water neck.

An option is to install the sensor in the block. There is a plug on the drivers side above and to the right of the oil filter where Ford puts a block heater. Remove the plug install bushings to the sensor size and install sensor.

Exactly. This was touched on previously in this thread and I asked because I just installed my pump, have that plug removed to drain the block, and am considering the best location for a sender. Assuming it's best where the hottest point in the coolant flow is, just not sure where that would be though.

Much more specific, and I probably should've stated all this in my first post.

The best place is where it leaves the motor, so the hottest point is the top of the water neck where it bolts to the head or in the upper radiator hose before it enters the radiator.

Has anyone been able to quantify the benefit of this pump? I'm still hunting every trick I can find to be able to race more in the AZ region, where I have to usually sit a few out due to the desert heat.
Chris, My car seems to have dropped 10 degrees in CHT from 227 to around 215 through full sessions.
This lap was late in the session, ambient temp was 82 F with 85% humidity.
