Hey everyone, new to the site. Got my GT500 out at the Northwoods Shelby Event @Road America. At this point just learning the car and what it can do. I ordered some Eagle F1 3R tires and hoping they will hold better in the corners than my R888R's did. New aero from archetype racing coming before my next event on May 27th at Road America which will hopefully help in the high speed corners. Here's a link to my first session with the car.

....................and the shifts seem quite seamless ! How did your brakes stand up when you had to tell the Monster Pony to " Whoa?" Heck you were only doing 150+ , so I imagine the calipers were squealing from hauling down the beast , yet in the clip it seemed quite composed. Impressive run and pretty sure more Corvettes will be moving over with they see you coming. You have the right car color on the GT to say, " I am coming , move your ass over!"

The brakes were the most shocking thing on the car. I got to 166 on the front stretch multiple times and brakes never faded in the 25 min sessions. It was great by the end of the weekend they could see the green coming and an arm out the window would follow. Worked as planned haha.

That is a huge testament , because brakes take a huge beating at RA, and races were often won because some drivers could no longer get their cars slowed from the high speeds one can attain there. Appreciate the info as it really relates to what the Engineers at Ford have touted since this car came out -----it was built primarily for a road course , not a drag strip!

Yeah they nailed it with this car. I had some Z06 owners coming up asking about the brakes. they couldn't believe how deep I could go into the corners.
