Followed the link, and there was a video of Sec. of Energy Jennifer Granholm and White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy driving around in a Chevy Bolt. When Granholm climbs into the passenger seat, she does remember to wear her seat belt but she pushes the shoulder belt behind her arm, so it's completely ineffective. How did the White House communications office think that was okay to release?
How did the arrogant political hack think that was OK to do? Apparently, laws don't apply to them. Not that that's any news at all, it's always that way with politicos and their hired gun hacks. Do as I say, not as I do. I have a firm rule when voting, never give them a second kick at you, there is nothing, absolutely nothing, more arrogant than a 2nd term politician. And their staff just follow right along with that arrogance.

Don't charge these Bolt cars unattended overnight? So you stay up and watch the charging so you can drive sleep deprived the next day?

The important part is “don’t park the inside” ;)

but it should say, “then buy (more) fire/homeowners coverage”

or something simpler like: don’t buy gm.

and maybe add a sprinkler system to protect the outside of the closest exterior wall . . .

Norm
And just like that, a new industry is born.
EVPFSS
The average cost for such a system would happen to equal the $7,500 or whatever Federal tax credit at the time.
People with such fire loss incidents will hear from their insurance agents, “…your policy doesn’t cover EV started fires. Sorry.”

must've been easy pickings over there.
Yeah. Have you seen the QC issues for Tesla? Not hard to beat there. Visiting Ford dealers…they’re getting lots of attention and selling very quickly from my pedestrian view.
I’m not going to buy one, but it’s the only one so far that I’ve actually considered. When Ford gets past some of the EV teething issues, I’ll think about it more.

It will be awhile before I would ever consider one, did you ever see the rant I posted on the Clean Air Act and how the government forced the auto industry into a bunch of stop gap measures to meet the law? and how half ***ed the cars became?
I'm getting the same feeling with this government mandate.

Whenever anyone is "forced" to do something they are not prepared or willing to do.....bad things may follow...........................The police dept next town over from me has a Tesla among their patrol cars. The newspaper article stated they saved over $12K in fuel costs with it over 3 yrs......no mention of how much electricity was needed to power it during that time period.
