That's just silly. they should go by what comes out of the exhaust and forget the rest.
Yeah, but they don’t even do the sniffer thing anymore. OBD check and visual only.
It’s all silly. Huge waste of time and money. One that doesn’t likely catch many actual offenders.

Ran the final autocross of the season today. Will have to watch for the results, May have got 1st in class for the day and possibly 1st for the season. Participation was poor this year, only two of us ran seven events this year, so it goes. The course was very dirty, sand, dirt, dust and seal coat rock being carried out onto the course. Windy, so blowing more crud around. Good season, no damage and decent weather most day. Time to catch up on stuff around home and start buying stuff for the winter mods.

A day late. Went to autocross for the weekend. Ended up pulling my car out of the event mid day. I guess i botched my brake fluid flush last week. Braking under normal driving seemed fine. Under hard braking, good initial bite, then my pedal sunk and I had to push with all I could. On top of the car had been feeling very wiggly out back. Found my driver side LCA poly bushings are toasted and my strut mount up front is bad. Early in the season, I had let one of the event chairs co-drive the stang when his gto corded a tire mid day. So he offered a seat in his GTO with him. It was interesting to say the least. He corded two of his RE71s last month. So he threw 2 all seasons up front with the old RE71s in back. Probably should have been reversed. Even with my car having issues with braking a stability, I had still managed a 55.6s run. i could only manage a 60.5s in the GTO. I will have to try and take a crack at it again when he has a complete set of tires on it again. I love the fact that the people I meet at autocross are so willing to offer help or even their cars to each other when bad luck strikes. It makes the community that much better.

I installed mirrors from the 2010+ S197 because truck mirrors look goofball.

Installed FR500S axle backs. Passenger side fitment is dead on. Driver's side hangs a little low no matter what I do so may have to bend the hangers.

Put the stock grille back on just because. Now that I'm back in the States seeing all these other Mustangs driving around again, there's just something missing without that running pony on the front.

All cosmetic stuff, nothing track-related. It's fun to do the easy stuff sometimes.

Weather gave us a break in the action here in Michigan today and with the family in town my brother and I took my 2012 Boss racer out for a spirited drive on some winding backcountry roads. We own a stock 2013 Boss 302 together so he was a perfect passenger to assess the difference between stock and all out track sorted monster. Coolest observation was that the race car “uses air” to increase performance and it doesn’t fight it like the stock version. Never thought of it that way but from the full breathing intake and exhaust to the hood and aero elements, brake ducts etc, air itself becomes our friend rather than our enemy. Lots of other differences related to acceleration in 3rd and 4th (racer was better), the ability of the racer to corner like no tomorrow, and the balance of the racer vs the “muscle car” feel of stock, but he’s so right on the relationship between the car and the air around it. I love driving either vehicle, very different experiences, and I’ll get the 2013 back in the spring/summer for my turn. Sweeeeeeet rides and a great day. Hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving.

After the Wolverines finally beat the Buckeyes on a snowy day in Ann Arbor, I secured the hood pin screws on my Tiger Hood in a way that will hopefully keep them from coming loose so quickly, or just plain falling out. May need to replace the hood lift supports as they don't support anything at this point.

The hood itself has been great, running about 30 degrees cooler than what we see on our stock 2013.

Thanks, it does look good and functions even better, though I can take no credit - the car was built by Chicane23, the screw fasteners are their idea as well, and I believe they manufacture the actual hood so they should know best!

HA Ha Bill. The Viper was a 2005 ex World Challenge car. I would guess about 450RWHP. But I think he was just having a bad weekend. Got outrun on the oval but we could brake a lot later and on the infield the car rocked. Thanks.
