Jeff - I met you this past July at an ARPCA event at PittRace. You weren’t on track that weekend but showed up with your car to hangout. I really enjoyed chatting with you for a bit. I had the black 2017 GT with bronze apex wheels.

I am tackling the some cooling issues this winter. I see you have the track spec heat extractors installed. How was the installation and how much of a drop in oil temps did you see?

Jake, installation was I thought easy. Putting the first hole in a perfectly good hood was 😱 Just take your time centering the vent. I used a jigsaw to do the cutouts.
I didn’t pay attention to oil temps much but will now that I am putting in a oil cooler so I will put oil temp gauge in.

My car is PP1, the shocks/springs are just a slightly stiffer alternative to the stock GT springs. It was OK on track, better than stock I guess but that's about it.
However, the Ford Racing FR3 track suspension kit is a whole other ball game, transforms the car on track without the complexity and cost of going to coilovers.
I wouldn't play mix and match with it though, it is an engineered kit meant to be used with the entire suite of shocks, springs and bars.

I'm familiar with all possible options and in reality really settled on Ohlins R&T however at the moment in Europe they are not available since September and getting a hand on a kit is next to impossible. With that in mind I need to lower the car for the 295/30 tires as the wheel gaps will be huge otherwise. So I lean towers Eibach Pro-Kit (sold by FP as a OEM replacement) have a friend with the kit seams to work ok. However once Ohlins get back in stock will invest into that. Hope this makes sense.

Motion Control Suspension is great choice and in my estimation one of the best systems out there but I imagine their pricing may be higher in Europe. Ohlins has a solid reputation and is used by quite a few racers in the US and the only other high quality system I can think of that might be a KW set up. Have you checked either MCS or KW since Ohlins appear unavailable?

MCS is only available in States the only other option in Europe will be JRZ which are also Sweden company but they have some mounting issues. KW is also an option but more expensive than Ohlins and not that great. Hopefully Ohlins will be available eventually.

I am using the stock PP shocks.

Great that's what I wanted to know. Good luck with your build it looks amazing :)

I was just thinking of some options, but you have already done your homework. I figured the KWs might be an alternative, but I would agree the Ohlins are a better choice, and even more so if they are less. Good luck and hopefully 2022 will see some easing of the supply chains around the World.

After waiting 5 months for the Aluminator short block I ordered ,I canceled it. After 3 back order dates already ford sent me a June 30 date. Enough is enough. February 10 I ordered new gen3 block, Boss crank, Manley rods and Mahle pistons. Which all have arrived. Crank and rods are at shop waiting to get balanced in 2-3 weeks. So I sent pistons to Calico coatings for thermal coating on top of pistons. Every part is brand new for this engine except the exhaust cams and oil filter adapter. I will list later.5124F0D9-E3E6-4AB8-91CD-0B282A37E601.jpeg460E1F29-B522-45BD-B05D-D42A3EE4FDAD.jpeg62B30E0D-02DF-4417-B19C-8747DFD52D68.jpeg

Well it’s been a year since I last posted. Spent way to much on car.wife said build it right and well that was good for me but bad for my wallet lol. bought all new engine parts only the 350 throttle body and oil filter adapter was from blown engine.. 460 hp at rear wheels.. L&M intake cams kook headers AED TUNE and all things that were needed to go fast.
This winter installed a Tremec magnum XL kit S1 sequential shifter another new Exedy hyper single and 4:09 gears And a FP track suspension. Also bought MOMO Daytona EVO XL driver seat and MOMO super cup seat for passenger. Next big item tires. I’m bad at posting what I have done.6A6FEC27-3EBF-46B2-B9C8-835B8D51D363.jpeg2B99AFD9-0EA6-45CE-A907-572A1D528B47.jpeg21CBB793-06F6-4C6C-B694-5127C27AE6AB.jpeg1101B3A0-646B-4E74-80D0-F7B60D55DB7C.jpeg51604057-F91E-4959-B04C-CF03E8E69BFB.jpeg70A387E0-307A-431B-9309-6850DA166D01.jpeg8770756D-C70A-45D3-884B-084228F0D105.jpeg86917B04-44A1-41EF-9F92-C275E27B4E68.jpeg81C37931-4DA4-4A7B-AECA-AABC05255360.png

That's some serious build. Are using the Gen 2 ECU or is this a new ECU for the Gen 3 short block ?

Dear Jeffsequential,
You must be shiftless or shifty or full of shift, as that new tranny purchase is so sweet, but getting it by the wife, ........wow! Could you give us all the secret of how you swung that?

She must know something that I don’t.. I asked her if the doctor told her I have maybe a year to live 😱 lol and she gets my life insurance 💸💸. TMSBOSS no jewelry involved.
