Thanks for the update and info. Would you expect a group buy on the EC-7RS sizes when the production run does comes around? It seems I am not alone in that the first group buy had some missing sizes in the EC-7RS that caused us to hold off on participating on this great new design.
It may not be a group buy format, but there will certainly be a pre-sale of some kind when they are introduced. The $$ savings will be comparable either way.

The earlier 18" Group Buy did not contain 19" fitments for obvious reasons, but what it did show was that exactly zero Mustang owners were interested in the EC-7RS design compared to the VS-5RS in the 18" wheel sales. There were 2 or 3 people who showed "interest" in the group buy, but nobody purchased them. Unfortunately we can't move forward with producing wheels that seemingly nobody wants, especially when we have a TON of other projects in motion as well (for other markets, and Mustang too). It's a shame because I really like the EC-7RS and will be getting a set for my car once they come out.

Dear Bill,
You are getting old and apparently you don't have your bifocals on because yesterday, yes yesterday, Apex RaceParts just announced a NEW " Group Buy " so time for folks to commit, since they are suggesting stuff will go out around March 1, 2022. Not long to wait , so some of you lucky guys/gals will be able to get a discount soon.

Public Service Announcement to correct an old man's misinformation -- well I was wrong on any " Group Buy " coming soon.

....and have a nice day.
Lol, as I posted the above message and I read yours. Is Bill turning psychic? Or senile?

But yes we did launch an SM-10 Group Buy yesterday. I will preface it now and say 19x11" ET26 and 19x11.5" ET56 are not included in it due to availability. The 19x11" ET52 is, so that would be the go-to GT350 setup. Since I'm feeling extra nice today, any forum members who see this and want the 19x11" ET26/19x11.5" ET56 combo, they can contact me and receive free shipping on a set.

Thanks for the info. That is surprisingly odd there were no takers in the EC-7RS from the Mustang crowd. It is a shame because although it is ~.5lb heavier than the VS-5RS, it is an improved upon classic design for APEX and is similar to other race-proven spoke designs. I was one of the 2 or 3 people who showed "interest". The flow formed EC-7's I have are excellent, and I was hoping to pickup a matching size in the new forged design, unfortunately the 18x10.0" size was not part of select sizes in the 18" group buy.

Out of curiosity, how many or percentage of takes in the group buy were for the 18x10.0" VS-5RS? Since 10" is all you can get in the front on the S197 without a wheel spacer, I wonder if a part of the EC-7RS no-takes was due to the only available 10" width being the VS-5RS? I know I was one of those, and I was slightly tempted to "pledge" for the VS-5RS, but because the EC-7RS in 10" width was supposed to come out later I held off.

Anyhow, I am going to hold out and get a set of the EC-7RS for my car too when they come out.

Will there be a group buy for 19" VS-5RS in GT350 fitment in the coming months or should I jump on the SM-10 if I'm in need of track wheels for spring?
That group buy is going live near the end of this month. The latest production update for the 19" VS-5RS is late May for wheels shipping out to customers.

Sorry, I assumed you were talking about 19" wheels. 18x11" ET52 was the only EC-7RS offered in the Group Buy and will likely be the only 18" version moving forward for now for the reasons mentioned earlier. 18x11 was chosen because it is by far the most popular size we sell.

Saw a set of VS-5RS in brushed clear at Sonoma this weekend and damn they looked great. On the wishlist. That is all.
Were they on a blue Lexus ISF? If so, that is one of our employees here. He's running the Mustang 18x10" ET40 all around with centering rings.

Are you guys planning to be out at Sonoma or Thunderhill any time this year?
I personally won't be this year, but I believe a few others will be going periodically. Joe, mentioned above, is in charge of SpeedSF stuff and goes to any event they have.

(oops, wrong account)

Funksoul has a question and since I am now psychic please remember you were going to post about the " Group Buy " being almost over and folks need to get in their orders!! You post so often ( which is absolutely fantastic ) that there are multiple threads and some may not realize the " Group Buy " is running down and in fact it is kind of hard to find now ----- so put up a new one in the General Forum to remind folks as it kind of got lost in the shuffle imho.

Good deal , as always and looking forward to all the new stuff coming from Apex.

Good news, we were able to get some EC-7RS fitments included in this new 19" Sprint Line Group Buy that was just launched yesterday. More formal post coming soon, but for those interested, here's the link to the GB: https://www.gangup.com/apex/19-forged-sprint-wheels-q1-2022.html

So @APEXRaceParts just for clarity sake, the current group buy for Mustangs is the SM-10 but they only come in the 3 finishes and not a brushed clear / silver finish? I need a second set of wheels. Car has been stuck in the garage for the last 7 weeks due to snow or temps.
Hi, I responded to your other post as well but I'll cover all the bases. Each Group Buy will show what colors are available, or not available, for a particular size. Due to the sheer volume of wheels we produce, we're not able to offer every finish in every size, for every market. Brushed Clear is a finish that is exclusive to Forged wheels, it will never be offered on flow formed wheels. Race Silver would be the "brightest/lightest" finish available on certain flow formed wheels.

Go square so you can rotate, many tracks will eat up on side of the tires and you have only one choice to move the tyre to . If you autocross it is even more important as you can really extend the life of the tires, imho.
