New mount solved the vibration. We adjusted the alignment to have some more toe out in the front. MPT also tweaked my tune for more linear throttle. I shaved 2 seconds off my time at autocross. My new PB is 53.339.

side note: my alignment guy told me the rear axle shows 8/32nd of toe out on both sides. What’s that about??

I about died when I saw the maximum force adjustment tool. Thank you for sharing this. It’s a bit over my skill level so I may just keep running it as is until I feel it becomes a limiting factor.

I’m not happy with the new trans fluid. I switched from the calimer cocktail to the MOTUL and my 2nd gear lockouts are back. I literally cannot get into 2nd at any rpm over 7k. Sometimes 3rd locks me out.

These new style transmissions are nothing like the old brass synchro type trannies, they use a fibrous coating on the synchros to engage them, so.. just like any other trans that uses fibrous discs in them (all automatics) they are fluid specific, and changing fluid types can really mess things up.

I happened to score a full Recaro interior off a local guy. He gave me a great deal. I had to replace the airbag and reupholster the drivers seat because it was blown. The good thing is my OEM premium leather seat airbag was a direct fit in the Recaro.
My first impression is amazement. I feel so planted and the car feels faster. I thought these seats compromised grip for comfort, but I really DO NOT move around in the seat anymore.

RAM HDX clutch died this week with 26,000 miles on it. It died almost exactly 2 years after install. Since my 2nd gear is pretty much useless, I’ve decided to replace the trans.

-I have a 2017 MT-82 with 28k on the way and a new MCLEOD RST with lightened flywheel sitting in my garage.

Now i’m trying to figure out what fluid to run in the new trans.

So the McLeod clutch and 2017 s550 trans is in. I just had to swap the tail shaft so it would bolt up to the s197 driveshaft. The s550 gears are a bit shorter than my years so it’s a nice little boost in speed. Car officially hit 146k during the clutch break in. That puts the new engine at 50k and the trans at a bit over 28k.

overall, i’m in love with the McLeod setup. I replaced the clutch line with the stainless line and installed BMR poly mounts. The shifting is super crisp with no more drivetrain slop. The s550 trans is so much more refined than the s197 one. I’m glad I splurged and got the newer mt82. I can say I’ve fallen back in love with my car.
