As noted the hood was on the car when I got it, it fits well and functions as I want it too, so I really can't say anything either way. I did ask them if I could put struts on the hood and they told me quite quickly it was not recommended at all with any of their CF hoods and could even affect the warranty. Good luck and thanks for your comments, as it will likely help others do their due diligence.

Bill, I put struts on my CF hood and no issues.

My car came with the hood already installed, so no issues for me, but I respect hearing the issues you have had and good to know for future reference. Will admit the looks of the hood you are installing is better looking, in my opinion, and I just tossed out the cost difference because I had checked for a friend who wanted one like mine. Always tough to hear about lack of service from companies who supposedly cater to the performance car market.
I drove my GT500 from NY down to see George in Augusta in order to put that hood on. Finding a suitable location for pins, executing clean cuts on the hood itself, took me some time. Thankfully, George was able to help me when I needed help bolting it in place. He also whipped up a unique one-off, spanner tool (out of a big hunk of aluminum) for tightening the large underhood nut for the pin system. In the end, the overall hood system opened and closed very similar to the GT500. We preloaded the hood at the pins slightly for better retention with a hard to see hood-dip compromise. Bill, you bought a great car from a good friend. I hope you drive the wheels off that thing.

George and I have been friends for almost 23 years, and it is so cool to see his passion for fun cars develop into the Worldwide manufacturer of the best short throw shifters around. From 5 employees to 25 now, he has taken the armament manufacturer ( Maryland Gun Works ) and expanded it into new areas with the shifters and now the Skudo Aluminum wallets ( I have one of those and they are super cool and secure ). He had a new machine there when I picked up the car in March and it makes me wonder what new product he will have in the coming months or years?

Apparently a company called Phoenix Design just released a GT500 style carbon hood vent, but it's currently only for GT350's.

That makes no sense. You go to their instashit site and its for GT500's. From what I can find nobody makes a CF GT4 vents for a GT350. But if they are out there I would love to see.

TruFiber have fiberglass version of the same hood which is very reasonable priced no need to waste a good hood with vents when you can have a new hood for 989$ you know.

I'm not advocating their business, but the product does exist, although only the center vent. Anytime a company only has an Instagram account as an e-commerce platform I'm always a little skeptical, but at least one person has worked with them to develop this and received a finished product.

Personally I went with the Trackspec kit because the company is well known with a solid reputation with many people in the racing industry using their products. It met the right balance of form and function for me. The Phoenix kit below is pretty, but not the biggest fan of it's "over the ridges" design and unsure of how likely you are to actually receive the product you pay for if you're not local to them.

I thought you were saying made a complete vented CF hood. Cause all they show in their instacrap is stuff for the GT500.

That's why I said GT500 style vent, and I think the photo I shared was of their prototype version. I'd be leery of working with a company who's only online presence is a single Instagram account with only a handful of photos and none of their new prototype product in question. Maybe it means they're hyper focused on actually producing quality parts and are bad at marketing, but maybe it means there isn't much to actually take photos of and this will be the next Function Factory Performance disaster of a carbon fiber manufacturer.
