Any thoughts, pro’s, con’s on AutoBlip controller installation location would be appreciated.
I see most mount them in the rear compartment of the console or the cup holder area. I went with the Xineering blip module mounted in the glove box instead of the AutoBlip. I put a rocker switch on the side of the console for an on/off switch.

Thanks. I’ll have to check out the Xineering module and compare them.

Just curious why you went with Xineering. If this is a rehash of an often-discussed topic on this forum, just let me know.

The Xineering install does look cleaner and easier.

It is more adjustable than the AutoBlip, but you have to plug it into a laptop to configure, so you can't adjust it on the fly. I thought set it and forget it would be better for me. I didn't want something that I would try and fiddle with when driving.

Hey buddy! How's it going?!? Here's where mine went. Did a tad of micro trimming on the plastic console cover so the wire would not be pinched in any way. I like the ability to adjust because have been working on changing when and how I downshift. Had to turn it down a bit in-between sessions a couple weeks ago.

I also went with the Xineering module after a few failed attemps with the Blip. The Xineering module is installed in the glove box with a single led toggle on lower right side of my dash. Really clean and once I got it adjusted, left it alone. Works fine.

Xineering here. Installed a toggle and led light next to the steering wheel.
Downside is you need a PC or android to adjust. My first time at the track with it I had neither and because the settings were not correct, I turned it off for the day.

The lower dash was a bit of a reach for me when I am harnessed in, so I mounted a switch on the side of the console behind the parking brake handle. It is easily reached and the parking brake lever keeps you from hitting it by accident.

KazarS197: Between battling stripped studs and kids’ high school graduations, vacations and college move-ins, I finally made it to a TNiA at Pitt Race 2 days ago. Thanks for all of your advice on the cold / hot tire pressures. They were pretty much spot on!

Also running Xineering. This is my second unit. Had one on my GT350 as well. I chose them over autoblip due to install. They use manufacture spec connections. Support is amazing. Call them and there service is awesome. Over 1500 laps I have between the both units and they are flawless.

Once you adjusted it how did you like it?
Sorry just seeing this but I am still trying to figure out the setting lol. I just need to invest in a cheap android to bring to the track with me.

But while im here lol.... @Vettel-ish (or anybody who has a module), what settings did you settle on? I think I have my blip too high.

I don't recall the settings however I did have to turn it down. It was not a huge adjustment but now its perfect!

Just make sure you don't have the brake pedal depressed when you turn it on. I accidentally did that last year when I was pulling onto the track at Gingerman and it put the car in limp mode. Made for a slow warm up lap until I got it pulled off. A simple restart and the limp mode went away and never returned. It worked well otherwise. On my Xineering (in my S550) I've got the switch hidden in the sunglasses tray and the module in the glove compartment.

I finally got my Xineering blip module. Relatively easy install. Factory plug under the cup holders for an auto trans that I don’t have had the switched 12v and ground. Minor contortions allowed for the brake and clutch splice.

Question on the factory setting. I took it for a road test drive at non-track speeds and the factory default seemed like a large delta in RPM’s. I think track RPM’s should be ok. Does anyone have any experience with S197 Boss with Xineering blip modules settings?

I’ll be at a HPDE this Sunday.

Thanks!

I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. Probably won't be on the track till the pm on Saturday due to the rain. Hopefully it pushes through fast. Sunday looks great! I'll try to stop by.
