Hi all,

So... Had a bit of an issue with some Kooks Super Street Shorty headers installed on my 2012 Boss 302.

On install (of course passenger was first installed), the driver side O2bung was welded in the wrong spot and was hitting the floor pan when lowering the engine back down.

After quite a bit of negotiating, Kooks agreed to cover my cost for ceramic recoating the replacement header, along with some of my other costs (additional labor).

As part of the compensation, Kooks included a $500 credit for purchase on their website.

My exhaust is stock other than the headers. I do have FR 84.5 throttle body, and Steeda CAI.

Any suggestions on what I should do? Can't get the catted H pipe as the fitting is not OEM on that (apparently, it's only for long tubes).

I know this question is off base, but do you know if those Kooks super street shorty headers would fit on a s550 model, I have a 2017 Mustang PP and was given a pair of those super shorties so didn't know if you ever heard of them fitting on s550 model or know anybody that did it, since both have coyote engine and I believe have same header manifold bolt hole location. Much Thanks on any help. I hope I am not being rude I figured it was on same item, so I gave the question a shot.

Hi there,

They do have different part numbers... what's the part number on the box? Look that up online and that should tell you what vehicles they fit.

They do say they are for 11-14 S197 model I already knew that, but I didn't know if they were only saying they did not fit the 15-22 S550 models because of the integrated catalytic converters welded right to the header on the driver side on the new models I wanted to know if anybody knew if they fit other than having to weld on bolted connectors to the catalytic converters If there was anybody that ever installed Kooks super street shorties on the 15-22 S550 models before. same engine so other than if frame or subframe gets in the way I was thinking it maybe would be possible to get it to fit with a little extra love. If anybody knows please share so I don't waste my time seeing if they will.

Look at the back half of the exhaust or find someone that wants something from Kook's and get it to resell. I have the Kook's cat back system on by 2011, which is actually an H pipe back. It is a quality piece and the sound is a bit throatier and deep without being obnoxious.
