BTW...first track day for the car will be this Friday & Saturday @ Memphis Motorsports road course...unfortunately I ran out of time and was not able to get tires and rims ordered for this, so will have to run the stockers for this one. At least this will give me a good feel and baseline for how its doing.

I think for most people when they saw/see the track map of the Memphis road course they think....looks boring, just one big straight and a couple corners.....



Well have to say..DO NOT judge this book by its cover, this turned out to be a pretty damn fun road course, will definitely try and attend events there whenever possible!


First Session of the Day...my fastest time was a 1:30...well off the fastest times by the Z06's running 1:25's


By the end of the day I had managed to get my time down to 1:20:78 with a passenger on board, the fastest time was a 1:18 for one of the Z06's and a 1:19 by the other supercharged Z06....felling pretty damn good about my times considering I am on street tires, filled with Nitrogen, and have much less HP. Was a great day at the track, these guys put on some of the best events I have ever been too!

Car feels like a different animal...it is VERY responsive off the turns, and is now reving out past 7k


Second session of the day....DRKHRSE...pulls off a 1:18:42!!! Supercharged Z06 is still in the 1:19's.


Long story short....I cant tell you how impressed I am with this car, I knew I had chosen the right parts, and I knew the car was going to be good...but DAMN it was AWESOME. Had a lot of people stop by and give nothing but compliments on the driving and the car. I believe i was the only one with a 2013 at the track. There was a Boss Leguna Seca, and a Roush, along with a Roush engineer at the track as well.


Cant wait to get some sticky tires on this and get it to Barber in October!

Well it was too nice a day not to do any wrenching! I knew I could not get the Watts link in this weekend, so went ahead and installed the sway bar

I test fit the axle brackets then marked the centerline of the axle and the bracket for alignment

The install, kind of sucked doing it in the driveway the way I did it. There were just a lot of things you have to hold in place, initially to get the nuts started. I will also say the instructions you get are not really that great, when you need to figure out what washer/spacer goes where, thankfully Vorshlag has full color pictures on their site, and had a better set of instructions on there too, that did not even come with the kit(I purchased from AM). All in all not too bad as far as install.


As far as function goes....WOW...it was a noticeable difference, I made the mistake of taking it out on a test drive on the hardest setting......oops. On street tires, in the corners, the rear was so stiff, the car would just break loose with a slight stab of the throttle. I put it back on medium at is was pretty damn nice.


As far as material, and quality...forget about it...this thing is the $hit!


Cant wait for the track. Should be doing Watts link next weekend!!

So after having my car for about a year now...I still cant leave it alone! After having the Audi TT and the alcantara wrapped steering wheel, all other steering wheels seem to pale in comparison. I had debated several times on sending the Mustang wheel out and having it wrapped...but for some reason, which is not like me, I was patient. So when I saw the LRS had the alcantara wrapped wheel for the 2013-2014 with the Track Package....I could not puchase it fast enough:banana:


So after pacing the house all day waiting for FedEx to arrive....it was finally delivered.


Install TIME!!






SOO nice!!





Installation: **probably a good idea to go ahead and disconnect the battery cable before install**
Remove the 2 caps from the side of steering wheel






Then remove the 8mm bolts from each side




Gently remove the airbag assembly



Remove the Black and Grey connectors from the air bag assembly



Set air bag assembly aside



Disconnect the black plug



Remove the 24mm bolt from steering column




Gently remove steering wheel



The new wheel comes fully assembled with wiring harness and everything!!



Attach new steering wheel



Connect Black plug



Torque 24mm nut to 45ftlbs



Reattach air bag/plugs....black to black and grey to grey



Gently slide the air bag assembly back into place, making sure holes are aligned....if you are really good you wont even honk the horn and scare the $hit out of yourself




Install the 8mm bolts, and caps




and now the fun part....removing the protective film!!! :rockon:

New Oil Breather Set-up




Finally bent up some brackets, and decided to install the new oil breather setup today









Decided to mount the setup with some bolts that will be hidden under the plastic cowl

After seeing reservoirs for the diffs at the track, I was thinking this seems like a really good idea. SO...I am in the our engineering lab today and it was project time!!


We have a ton of these 2" ID cylinders laying around so I thought this would make a great start for a home made setup....here is how it went...


Cut a section of pipe to length, since one side was already threaded for the cap...one side would already be done!!





Turned the threads on the other end, and cleaned up the outside on the lathe





Looking pretty good!



Completely servicable







next up will be to come up with a mounting solution...
