Background & Plans
The car was built by my Grandpa. He did the engine swap about 20 years ago when the Cobra Motor was a top engine. The car really started racing about 12 years ago. We mostly took it to a Go kart track in Marshalltown, Iowa with the Mustang Club. There the car was successful and we held the record for a long time. After the track closed the car sat for a couple years. Since then I have started to race so like anyone would I made sure we brought it back out. 2 years ago was our CAM debut and it was super fun but not very competitive. I think I barely got into the top 10 at a local Iowa Region event. We decided to build it to where it is at now and take those two years off. In that time we raced a G-Street Civic Si (boring). I was fast getting 6th at autocross nationals in it but it doesn’t get the adrenaline pumping. But now we finally have the Mustang back out and are planning to try and make it a National Winning Cam car if we can. We still need to dial in the suspension settings, make aero and possibly give the car more power. Follow my Instagram @autoxemery to see more of the car.
