  1. MCA - please get your HPDE act together - the story of my first and last MCA event

I do not attend MCA track events because of how poorly they are run and the general attitude that they are doing you some huge favor. I also disagree that they should be cut some slack because they only run a couple of events per year. The SVT Cobra Club only ran a couple of events per year in...
  2. Daytona 2024

    Delete. Mistaken post.
  3. Dark Horse HP front caliper mount - Radial or Axial?

Based on the above information, the rear caliper piston area for the DH is 1413 mm square. The S550 read caliper area is 1590 mm square. So a difference of about 10% in piston area. I am not going to take the time to try to figure out if there is any actual difference in bias - that would...
  4. Dark Horse HP front caliper mount - Radial or Axial?

The FP350S AP brakes are better than either the OEM GT350 or any of the other S550 brakes. We have replaced full weight GT350 and S550 setups with the APs and they do perform better (better modulation and pedal is firmer when hot), weigh less, and fit under an 18" wheel. But, they are expensive...
  5. Dark Horse HP front caliper mount - Radial or Axial?

The Mach 1 / S550 Brembo brakes are up to at least sprint racing with proper pads and cooling ducts. Are they as good as an AP or Brembo race kit, no, but the factory brakes cost a lot less.
  6. Dark Horse HP front caliper mount - Radial or Axial?

Keep in mind that moving to a larger rotor limits wheel choices and the larger rotors really are not needed. There is a reason why the GT4 and FP350S use smaller diameter rotors - reduced weight and wheel fitment. They also use a true motorsports quality brake system. The FP350 uses AP brakes...
  7. 2018 vs Boss Intake manifold

2018 tends appears to be slightly better than the Boss based on online tests and articles. The Cobra Jet is still the best intake Ford sells.
  8. Track car help.

The Ford Performance site is showing the ABS module available for purchase. Its either a mistake or they got some more in. Might be worth a call to their tech line.
  9. Track car help.

Have you thought about contacting the series director and submitting a request for an equivalent alternative? Example would include the strut tower brace, lower front A-arm braces, etcetera. You can get an aftermarket version from various vendors if you look. You really don't need the Ford...
  10. I reached out to NASA about our Lap Times system, and got this head scratching reply

Understood. Some of the NASA regions do have records of live timing and scoring for each event, but I don't think you will find direct links to the sites from the NASA pages. You kind of have to know where and what you are looking for.
  11. I reached out to NASA about our Lap Times system, and got this head scratching reply

Actually, it does make sense from a legal and insurance standpoint. No clubs that I am aware of keep timing for HPDE, it typically is a violation of how they are insured. Some clubs go so far as to specifically state no timing is allowed at their events.
  12. 12 Boss with Service StabilTrac message and steering angle sensor error in ABS PCM

Don't order the alternator from a dealer. Get the Ford Performance kit. It costs less and has the alternator, belt, hardware, and idler pulley. Capaldi Racing usually has a good price on the kit.
  13. 12 Boss with Service StabilTrac message and steering angle sensor error in ABS PCM

Its pretty common for a Boss alternator to show 14 volts at idle and need replacement. They usually start acting up on track at higher RPM and seem fine in the paddock. Loss of electric power steering on track is one of the indicators.
  14. My motor blew up......now what?

Sal, you are not using the plastic factory cap that comes on at least the 2011 and newer cars. I do not know if yours is one time use or not.
  15. My motor blew up......now what?

Don't forget the radiator cap is one-time use. If the engine overheated, you should replace the cap with a new one. I always carry a spare in the trailer.
