Hi Friends, could those with experience recommend what size and configuration would be best for auto-crossing?I'm a novice relatively speaking and have been out of the game for several years and would trust this wise body of input before my own. My intent is to resume a regular SCCA Solo II...
Made me smile that Ford is prioritizing loyal customers. Many of these will be bought by collectors and put away to never see the road. Would be nice that these profit grabs benefit the fan base first.
I have an '01 focus that is due to be replaced. I'm taking a wait and see attitude as the price is just high enough to do that. I'll want to see in person before committing; that was not the case for the Boss.
Indeed, that is real benefit you will feel. Upgrading wheels is my favorite "bang for buck" upgrade as it makes everything feel my lively.Where did you buy the wheels from?
I was not in SteamBoat AutoX due to the aforementioned difficulty in signing up. However I did attend for about 4 hours and looked like it went well. I thought the track looked like a nice layout.
Remember those old Mobil 1 ads when synthetics were new on the market? They would drain the engine of all oil and run them for 50 plus hours to prove the "protection lasts".Given your short drive and not pushing it I bet you'll be fine.
I have the "classic" formulation in my boss, no issues. Have oil analysis too, will post when I can get home and check the numbers. Nothing has ever come back in a concern area however, I know that.
In 30 years some "new" Boss owner will be walking the parts swap meet at the local ford nationals trying to hunt down some OEM wheels. ;D (Or yeah, the internet) Sorry, just have fond memories searching for '67 Cougar wheels with my dad.
